The Maui High unified team blazed to victory in two events at the Island Movers/HHSAA Track and Field State Championships on Saturday. The Sabers’ Jerimiah Abut, Edwin Hayman, Gavin Gilon and Waiohinu Cuello won the 4-x-100 relay and the 4-x-400 relay in front of the cheering and packed crowd at Kamehameha’s Kunuiakea Stadium. Punahou, Moanalua: Nos. 1, 2 for most state titles

Not surprisingly, Punahou won the most team state championships out of the 46 koa trophies awarded during the 2017-18 sports season. Moanalua came in second among the state’s high schools with four. After that Baldwin, ‘Iolani and St. Francis tied with three each.
