The parents of former Damien football player and wrestler Keoua Kauhi have dropped a lawsuit against the Interscholastic League of Honolulu and executive director Blane Gaison. The suit challenged the league’s transfer rule. Kauhi rushed for 914 yards and five touchdowns for the Monarchs last year. Two-time defending Open Division state champion Saint Louis opens the 2018 season ranked No. 12 in the nation in the Max Preps preseason top 25 released Monday. ILH champion Punahou, ‘Iolani and Roosevelt each placed three on the Honolulu Advertiser ILH all-star team while the Buffanblu had four on the Star-Bulletin’s list. Buffanblu quarterback Harry Pacarro, Roosevelt fullback Al Bader and Punahou halfback Tom Fink were unanimous selections. Rural OIA champion Waialua landed six on the Honolulu Advertiser all-star team but only four on the Star-Bulletin squad while runner-up Waipahu placed six.
