Kalaheo’s Emily Naylor is the Gatorade Hawaii Girls Cross Country Runner of the Year, the Gatorade Company announced recently The award recognizes outstanding athletic excellence, high standards of academic achievement and exemplary character on and off the field. A 5-foot sophomore, Naylor won the state meet in the fall in 19 minutes, 37.87 seconds in the three-mile race. The next closest competitor was 20.43 seconds behind. Kamehameha, Mililani are top seeds in D-I state soccer tournament

ILH champion Kamehameha and OIA champion Mililani are the top two seeds in Division I of The Queen’s Medical Center/HHSAA Girls Soccer State Championships beginning Monday with four first-round games. The Warriors will attempt to defend their state crown beginning next Thursday when they play the winner between Monday’s first round-match between Kamehameha-Maui and Campbell on the KSM campus. Kalani’s Paulina Ruelas won four gold medals to lead the Falcons to the girls team title at the 2020 OIA Swimming and Diving Championships on Saturday at K.
