ILH champion Kamehameha and OIA champion Mililani are the top two seeds in Division I of The Queen’s Medical Center/HHSAA Girls Soccer State Championships beginning Monday with four first-round games.

The Warriors will attempt to defend their state crown beginning next Thursday when they play the winner between Monday’s first round-match between Kamehameha-Maui and Campbell on the KSM campus. The Sabers advanced to the state final last year before losing to Kamehameha 1-0.

Mililani, which is making its 22nd consecutive appearance in the state tournament after winning its 18th OIA crown on Saturday against Moanalua, will open next Thursday against the winner between Hilo and Pearl City.

The Chargers are making a record 37th consecutive appearance in the state tournament.

In another first-round game on Monday, Punahou will host Aiea with the winner advancing to play No. 3 seed King Kekaulike next Thursday. The Buffanblu are making their fourth appearance at states since last winning a title in 2011.

‘Iolani, which finished third in the ILH, missed out on the state tournament for the first time since 2009.

The ILH has won the last three state titles since Mililani won in 2015 and Pearl City in ’16.

BIIF champion Konawaena is the No. 4 seed and will play the winner between Moanalua and Kailua in the quarterfinals.

All quarterfinals games will be played at Waipio Peninsula Soccer Stadium.
