TMF Elite of Hawaii, coached by Kahuku alum and former All-State player of the year Kawe Johnson, advanced all the way to the semifinal round of the Pylon 7v7’s “The Mecca” tournament before losing to eventual champion The Grind (Dallas, Texas). Punahou’s Dominic Gusman and Treyden Buder-Nakasone are the players of the year in the Interscholastic League of Honolulu Division I boys soccer as voted on by the league’s coaches. Gusman is the offensive MVP and Buder-Nakasone is the defensive MVP. Meanwhile, Kamehameha’s Uri Barron-Silva was picked as the D-I coach of the year. The Hawaii Senior Classic will tip off Mar. 7 at 4 p.m. at Moanalua High School. Kaeo Drummondo will be defensive coordinator at Kamehameha after stepping down as Hilo head football coach

The voyage for this Viking ship will have a new coach at the helm. Kaeo Drummondo has stepped down as Hilo football coach. Drummondo guided the Vikings five BIIF titles in five seasons, plus Division I state championships in 2017 and ’19. They were 48-10 (.828) under his watch. ILH girls soccer all-star teams: Players share top offensive, defensive honors

The ILH coaches were in a sharing mood voting on their all-stars teams in girls soccer. In Division I, Kamehameha sophomore Anuhea Aluli and Pac-Five senior Faith Lee shared the offensive most valuable player honor while Kamehameha senior Tausani Tavale and Punahou senior Taryn Kaneko were named co-defensive MVP’s.
