Punahou junior Tevarua Tafiti adds Cal, UCLA, Virginia to offer list

UCLA, California and Virginia have become the 15th, 16th and 17th FBS schools to offer football scholarships to Punahou junior Tevarua Tafiti. The 6-foot-3, 208-pound defensive end already has offers from Hawaii to the Pac-12 to the Big Ten to the Big 12 and ACC, as well as Notre Dame. Punahou, Utah State standout Brian Suite, 28, dies of cancer

Former Punahou all-state safety Brian Suite has died from a rare cancer. Suite, 28, was a three-sport athlete and played football at Utah State. While he was running for Punahou, the Buffanblu broke the 4×100 medley mark. Suite was a 2009 Star-Advertiser first-team safety. “We’re just heartbroken. Sad. Colorado, UCLA join chase for Roosevelt junior DE Kaeo Akana

The Pac-12 bull rush has arrived for Kaeo Akana. Colorado, then UCLA offered football scholarships to the Roosevelt defensive end on Tuesday. The 6-foot-3, 205-pound junior now has six offers. Four days after landing his first football scholarship offer from the Big Ten Conference, La‘akea Kapoi now has a second. Indiana had taken an interest in the Saint Louis offensive lineman in early August, Kapoi said.
