No. 6 Farrington All-State football

All good teams routinely describe itself as a family. At Farrington, they have the roots to prove it. Some great footage of OL-versus-DL one-on-one (no pad) drills. Farrington defensive tackle Breiden Fehoko and Punahou offensive lineman Semisi Uluave look terrific against the top guys in the Oakland Nike Football Training Camp. Also in the footage is DL Salanoa Alo-Wily (Kahuku) and DT Rex Manu (Mililani). Fehoko (6-3, 285) has already committed to play for Texas Tech. He will be a senior this fall.

3 Hawaii football players honored

The 2015 graduating class featured considerable star power this past football season and three players from Hawaii high schools received national recognition on Student Sports’ Junior All-America teams. Saint Louis offensive lineman Fred Ulu-Perry made the second team. Two defensive linemen, Farrington’s Breiden Fehoko and Kamehameha’s Mika Tafua, were honorable mention picks. The Farrington High School community has drawn closer together through the heartbreaking disappearance of Farrington football player Dayne Ortiz. The cornerback was part of a defensive unit that became one of the best in the state. Coach Randall Okimoto calls Ortiz one of the team’s most improved players. Fehoko adds Louisville, Vandy to list of offers

The list keeps growing for Farrington junior Breiden Fehoko. Louisville and Vanderbilt became the latest universities to offer the 6-foot-3, 280-pound defensive tackle scholarships. Fehoko and fellow defensive lineman Motu Heimuli helped the Governors defeat Kahuku 21-7 on Thursday to claim the top seed in the OIA Red East. Fehoko has a 4.0 grade-point average.
