For more than three quarters, Pearl City had control.

Then, the Kaiser Cougars roared back, scoring two touchdowns in the final six minutes. Pearl City’s defensive stop on the final play of the game — on a potential touchdown reception by Donovan Reis (11 receptions, 171 yards, two TDs) preserved a 27-21 win at Kaiser Stadium.

Pearl City (5-1 overall, 4-0 league) remained in first place in the OIA Division II standings, sharing the lead with Nanakuli. Kaiser dropped to 2-2 in league play (2-3 overall).


Chargers quarterback Trey Dacoscos passed for 223 yards and three TDs without a pick. Wide receiver Bradley Kansou had six catches for 125 yards and two TDs.

Tohia-John Williams sparked Pearl City’s defense with two of its three interceptions.
