Savea picks SDSU; Gilman to sign at PIAA

Kapolei offensive lineman Pesi Savea chose San Diego State over Texas Tech, according to a Pacific Islands Athletic Alliance website post Tuesday night.

Savea had been waiting for some test scores to come in and now he is eligible to sign his letter of intent for the Aztecs at Wednesday’s PIAA signing ceremony at the Sheraton Waikiki.

Kahuku defensive back Alohi Gilman, who Hawaii Prep World reported earlier Tuesday as being committed to Navy, will also be heading to the PIAA ceremony to sign his letter of intent to the Midshipmen.

Gilman made the Honolulu Star-Advertiser’s All-State first team in the fall after helping the Red Raiders into the state semifinals.
