Saint Louis has a fifth player named Polynesian Bowl All-Star

Saint Louis’ Stanley McKenzie has been named a Polynesian Bowl All-Star.

McKenzie, a 6-foot-2, 270-pound defensive tackle, made the Honolulu Star-Advertiser All-State third team last year despite playing behind Polynesian Bowl alums Faatui Tuitele and Gino Quinones.

A three-star recruit and ranked as the 13th-best prospect in the senior class from Hawaii this year by 247 Sports, McKenzie committed to California in June out of an offer sheet that included Arizona, Boise State, California, Central Michigan, Hawaii, Nebraska, Oregon, Oregon State, San Jose State, UNLV and Virginia.

McKenzie is the fifth Crusader selected to the 2020 game joining linebackers Nick Herbig and Jordan Botelho and receivers Matt Sykes and Roman Wilson.

Kahuku offensive lineman Micah Soliai-Howlett was announced to the game earlier today.

Two more players from Hawaii will be selected to the game next Thursday.

The 2020 Polynesian Bowl will take place Saturday, Jan. 18, at Aloha Stadium featuring 100 of the best high school football players in the country. The majority of the players will be of Polynesian ancestry.
