Poi Report: ASU offers Kapolei’s Fernandez

Kapolei linebacker/defensive end Kingston Fernandez has been offered a football scholarship by Arizona State.


Hurricanes coach Darren Hernandez confirmed the offer this afternoon. Fernandez is a 6-foot-3, 245-pound senior who is an NCAA academic qualifier, the coach added.


Also, Kapolei defensive tackle Kalani Vakameilalo has also been made an offer by Arizona State. Vakameilalo (6-4, 290) has offers from Boise State, Kansas, Nevada, Pitt, San Diego State, Washington State and Wyoming.

    It’s sad that UH can’t offer Hawaii’s best players what they can get at bigger better schools.

    Our winless UH team will never improve until we find a new coach and staff that can recognize and recruit the best from their own backyard. Chow staffs is horrible at it and so was Mcmackins,

    Apparently, Chow did not even make an offer to any of the Kapolei kids. Why??
