Kapolei defensive end Kukea Emmsley, who picked up nine scholarship offers since the start of the year, has decided to end his recruitment in time for the start of his senior season.

Emmsley, who is 6-foot-5 and 235 pounds, announced on Twitter today that he has committed to Boise State, calling it his dream school since he was young.

Emmsley chose the Broncos over offers from Oregon, Oregon State, Hawaii and Fresno State among others.

Kapolei, coming off a program-best 10-3 season last year, opens its season next Friday at Campbell. Emmsley is one of six Hurricanes expected to start on defense who have at least one Division I scholarship offer.

“We’re trying to be even better than last year,” Emmsley said before practice on Tuesday. “I’m not trying to compare but I think we’re pretty solid. We’ve got a lot of ballplayers out here.”
