After breaking a school record for points scored in a single game in an 83-0 rout of Radford, Kahuku remained at No. 17 in the latest USA Today Super 25 rankings heading into Saturday’s tilt against No. 1 Bishop Gorman in Las Vegas.

The Gaels remained No. 1 in the country after beating then-No. 7 St. John Bosco (Calif.) 35-20 on Saturday. QB Tate Martell, an Ohio State commit, was 7-for-15 for 183 yards and three touchdowns and rushed for 111 yards and another score.

A week after holding Campbell to negative yardage for an entire game, Kahuku held Radford to just two total yards and has not given up a point in the last 14 quarters. Senior Stokes Nihipali-Botelho, who was voted USA Today’s Super 25 Star last week, scored on an interception return and a punt return.

The Red Raiders also broke into the Max Preps Xcellent top 25 rankings for the first time all season on Monday, checking in at No. 24. Bishop Gorman is also No. 1 in that poll.

The Hawaiian flag will be represented that night, not the OIA/ILH but the entire state….. so let’s send the Red Nation with #PositiveVibes….

Good luck to the Red Raiders, yes win or lose we are proud of you guys.
this one is for the State of Hawaii.
Last week the quarterback for BG Said that “they are unstoppable”, well that a fine challenge to make to all the Teams in the States.
Safe travels to all the members of the Team, Staff, and all the parents and Supports that are going to the Game.ALOHA

Game plan for a Victory against Bishop Gorman.
    DEFENSE!!!!!!!!
Naupoto and company have to penetrate that massive O-Line and disrupt the backfield. Hurries will cause INT’s. Bat the balls down and assault all ball carriers including the Ohio State bound Qb Tate Martell.
In the Backfeild, Kesi Ah-Hoy has to be on top of his game by stopping receivers and decimating would be receptions. Ah-Hoy will need to pick the ball from Martell in order for Kahuku to play Smash Mouth Football.
No mistakes. No Personal fouls. Watch the ball on defense. Encroachment penalties are one to many.
Remember that Kahuku run offense takes much time off the clock and score. As for BG has the quick Scoring Aerial attack. Kahukus Defensive backs must stop BG by three and outs and turnovers.
The best offense is the best DEFENSE!!!!!!!!!
Shock the football world by making a bold statement that Hawai’i football is one to be reckoned with.
Play hard, Play safe, most of all HAVE FUN!!!!

Like us or not….Our boys will represent our great 808 state with humility. We hope to make Hawaii proud. Play hard, play smart and leave it all on the field. #RR4L

Does anyone know if this game will be televised or streamed?

    Good luck Kahuku!!!

  9. ilh September 12, 2016 1:04 pm

Kahuku was the best team last year, not this year, I believe Saint Louis and Punahou is better than Kahuku this year. Good luck to Kahuku , Bishop Gorman 48 Kahuku 14.

  10. Kahuku90 September 12, 2016 1:16 pm

    @surferguy808

No excuses. May the best team win. If it’s BG, awesome. If it’s Kahuku, super awesome.

@ilh – St. Louis and Punahou still look the same like last year…High powered on offense with no defense! and just like last year, everyone looks good until they play Kahuku so, no, STL/PUN are not better then Kahuku this year.

Kahuku has to eat up the clock on long drives, that will be their best defense (to keep the BG offense off the field). BGs offense is high powered like the St. Louis’s offense but on steroids, Tate martell is faster then Tua and can throw just as good. When Tua took off running against Kahuku last year he gained 10,20,30 yards, if Martell takes off against Kahuku its gonna be a TD.

Kahuku has never had to play against big strong fast WRs so the red raider backfield will lose some battles, just like the top teams from TX CA FL got roasted for long TDs.

BG will score at least 35. But I think Kahuku can score 42 with that elephant offense, special teams play and maybe one TD from their defense. Goodluck Kahuku!

  13. RRFLbaby September 12, 2016 1:59 pm

    No excuses. Whoever wins wins.

  14. red x September 12, 2016 2:56 pm

    @Surferguy808
Why would there be an excuse for kahuku? Everyone knows that BG is the best in the nation and mostly going win by large margin. Atleast kahuku is up to the challenge. RED RAIDER PRIDE!!!

  15. RR4L80 September 12, 2016 3:24 pm

Good luck Boys..As well as the Coaches. ..What an incredible opportunity. .Enjoy every moment…Go Big Red. ..

  16. New Guy September 12, 2016 3:43 pm

@surferguy808 I don’t think Kahuku would need to explain themselves against a loss to the #1 HS football team in the nation. I mean, they are the underdog going in to this fight. The mainland mocks Hawaii football. Not Kahuku football, but Hawaii football in general. Maybe the rest of the state should get over themselves and support these boys because even though it’s just a game…they play for much more than themselves.

  17. anywaaaays!! September 12, 2016 4:49 pm

@NewGuy – I think the mainland mocks University of Hawaii football not Hawaii High school football. Our high school kids go on to mainland universities and become stand outs. Its the UH that is a total joke when it comes to football at the college level.

  18. Matuu Pulotu September 12, 2016 5:51 pm

Let’s go Big Red. Play hard, play tough, play smart and play clean. Earn BJ’S respect by how you play and carry yourselves. You may end up teammates in the future. Give them some north shore love and invite them here to return the favor. Good luck to all and be safe. Go BIG RED.

  19. 99boiz September 12, 2016 6:02 pm

The stage is too big for some of our idiot Kahuku fan base up in vegas they doing stupid things and BG is sick of the harrassing…might cancel game.

  20. AUWE September 12, 2016 6:27 pm

@99Boiz would be a shame if they do, all the hard work and fundraising these kids did to get there just to have it spoiled by people not even playing the game!!! Be humble Red Raider Nation!!!

  21. RRFLbaby September 12, 2016 7:00 pm

Yup. if true, very sad what some people are supposedly doing. i mean seriously, what high school campus allows random people to wander around campus? as far as i know, there aren’t too many high schools that officially allow tailgating on campus. this is a high school field, not Aloha Stadium or Sam Boyd Stadium. Act with class, let the boiz do their thing and support with positivity.
    Go Big Red!!!

  22. HanaBrada September 12, 2016 7:02 pm

Good luck Kahuku! Make Hawaii proud!! Represent!!!

  23. i love 88 September 12, 2016 8:34 pm

88 tell your cousins to stop acting like fools. I know they take after you but c’mon, a lot of planning has gone into this game.

  24. TooMeke September 12, 2016 9:35 pm

ugh. cmon people. try not to screw up a good thing.

no mattah what this is for the boys and the state.

    fricking killing me.

Hope we pull out a win. I believe it can be done. what a great opportunity for the boys.

win or lose, it’s gonna be fun!

now to da idiots acting stupid up there…give it a rest. it’s a done deal with all their manipulation of ticket sales. let it go already.

    RRFL!!

  25. Kahuku Alumni September 12, 2016 10:54 pm

St Louis would have been a better match this year for BG. Last years kahuku team would be able to compete but this years team does not have an offense to score against them. Sol Jay is just a hand off guy and that will not be enough. JUst enjoy the trip and spend some money at the casinos. At least most of the kids were able to fly on an airplane. Kahuku Class of 89! REDRAIDERNATION!

  26. Tutu Kane Ale September 12, 2016 11:22 pm

We Proud, Be Proud, our Red Raiders still Number #1 State of Hawaii High School Football Champion going for an upset against LV Bishop Gorman, the Number #1 USA High School Football Ratings Champion; optimistically win or lose it’s always a win for meaningful experiences and that’s what most coaches build on. RR4LE

  27. OHHREALLY September 12, 2016 11:27 pm

St. Louis a better match?? They almost gave up 50pts to punahou imagine what this team would do. Without a running game St. Louis would get destroyed!!!

  28. Kahuku Alumni September 12, 2016 11:48 pm

Yes REALLY!!! Campbell? Radford? Aiea? who else? Punahou would beat Kahuku this year i said. We are weak on the offense. This is going to be nice getaway from the north shore. Most of those kids have never left the rock. This would be a great time to see Las Vegas strip. Don’t be upset just make sure you come back and post how it doesnt matter that we lost as long as we represented Hawaii good. Listen nephew St Louis would have a better chance because of Tua. St Louis Defense is better too. its ok just enjoy the buffet out in vegas! NORTHSHOREPRIDE!

  29. Flying Eagle September 13, 2016 12:12 am

Sorry Kahuku Fans what happen to Cedar Hill Texas will happen to Kahuku.

  30. 87 September 13, 2016 1:24 am

ha kahukualumni is a poser not from north shore. nice try to stir up hate, we are 9 titles beyond the hate and the 10th one coming in a couple months, but keep on hating cause it motivates our boys n community

  31. RRFLbaby September 13, 2016 5:59 am

I would’ve loved to see Tua go up against Tate, but guess what, St Louis didn’t go looking for a fight with BG….Big Red did. Get over it. And so what if BG does to Kahuku what they did to Cedar Hill, same thing to Cocoa (Florida), same thing to SBJ. You know what these schools would have in common if Big Red does lose, they were all willing to take a shot at the best. Big Red is going up to the continent to rep the 808, either get behind them and provide support, or get out of the way.
    RRFL!

  32. Alpha September 13, 2016 6:14 am

Man, folks out here just can’t be supportive of their island boys….. gotta be so petty where they sellout to the mainland just to see Kahuku lose….

Kahuku Alumni, surferguy808, ilh….. Local Boys, same as those Kahuku kids yall wishing defeat. It’s pretty obvious you guys have a better education(ilh), parents worked hard to make you alil more smarter then majority of the public. But it doesn’t mean you forget where you come from, I love it here in Hawaii because the locals have so much pride…. I even think BG is gonna win, their like a STL and Punahou on steroids, and that’s what makes it even better to be a “Local Boy”…… Anyone, Anywhere, Anytime let’s go. Like Max Holloway the last 10sec of his fight he was clearly winning ““He told me he wanted to bang… so I let him bang”….. That local street fighter mentality, somthing alot of our public schools have…. they know damn well they can’t beat Kahuku, but their gona go in and “bang”. Now the tables are turned, Kahuku knows what time it is….. their gonna answer the call just how you Locals do so well, whatever happens their gona take it on the chin and keep coming. If any of your schools were playing this game yall would my support, maybe next yr…

  33. Red Raider 4 Life September 13, 2016 6:15 am

Good luck Big Red, no matter win or lose, we still big time proud of you guys, you guys representing the 808… Go get um, no scade um, hit hard, hit hard, hit hard. Cheee Whoooo…

  34. Jason Keuma September 13, 2016 8:45 am

If St. Louis or Punahoe was playin BG, I would cheer for the Hawaii team playing. Good luck, be safe.

  35. Alpha September 13, 2016 9:00 am

@JasonKeuma…. we all have the right to our opinions, and its easy to respect yours. Considering STL nd Punahou’s football team is made up of kids from across the state… rivalries in sports can make it hard to root for the other team.

  36. Alpha September 13, 2016 9:37 am

Actually I pulling for us(us as in HI) against Gorman in ’12 and especially against my hometown school Bosco in ’14. In 2016 Kahuku is gona give it a go and imma give the same support. Maybe nxt time Punahou can set somthing up. Can’t fault any of the top dog schools for sticking their necks out there against the nation’s best…. look at it this way, stl lost those yrs nd didn’t win states, maybe the same goes for this year. We’ll just have to wait and see, that’s why the game is played on the field and not on paper.

  37. Checkyoself September 13, 2016 9:49 am

Despite what program you come from in Hawai’i,
We always support Hawai’i. We islanders all know we are stronger when we unite together as one. For the new comers to the islands, unity can be explained and eventually they will get it. As for the natives that forgot we’re from the same island need to be reminded from time to time to come off your high maka maka high horse and remember your roots. You are what makes Hawai’i people divide amongst ourselves.
WE ALL LIVE, WORK AND PLAY HERE.

  38. Manley September 13, 2016 10:06 am

Funny to see the haterz posting under “faux” RR names. ALL top mainland teams rely on passing games. So does STL.and PUN. Look at their last game, basketall scores. BG has 5 star DBS. Guess what? They will get NO WORK. BG line backer coach,Kahaluu boy, and recruiter said last year they wanted the State Champs. After watching the GAME and the dominance by Kahuku, the deal was done,100%. Now it will be a challenge for BG to stop a monster RUNNING game. They would have no problem against STL.or PUN. They play those types 90% of the time. This puts the load on BG coaches. It will be a great game. Good Luck Kahuku. Good Luck to all island HS players.

  39. Jason Keuma September 13, 2016 10:25 am

@alpha. I guess it is easier or a Kahuku fan to root for an ILH team playing a mainland team. We know players on the ILH teams. But even if I didn’t, I would simply say, “good luck, we are cheering for you guys.”

They play the game, because any team can loose on any given day. Good luck, we are cheering for your guys. Hope the server has enough capacity for streaming the game.

watching some film of bg on utube, their oline and dline are not big but they are strong and fast. haskell is 6’2 250 at dline and next to him is 5’9 240. these boys are ballers but kahuku smash mouth eliminates speed and forces u to push up against their 300lb oline. can bg do that for 4quarters? maybe we will see

  41. Insideoutsidein September 13, 2016 11:45 am

    @checkyoself. AMEN BROTHER!!. Well said.

  42. Kahuku Alumni September 13, 2016 12:34 pm

Guys lets be real. Our defense is too slow against Gormans speed. Haskell will eat up 3 guys. Ah hoy is not fast. That’s why left the offense cause colleges told him he was to slow to be a running back. Cornerbacks are too small. Our offense line is not all that. We don’t have a Qb to throw with accuracy. We just fired OC. So all we gonna do is run run run. Gorman has played running teams every year. They beat them all. I say Gorman 42 Kahuku 14

So silly, you guys think BG has never played teams that play smash mouth.

Here is the thing. Many people talk smack on here. But are you willing to bet $10,000 straight up? If so let me know and I will have my buddy in Vegas contact you. Even Odds. Nothing less than $5K or you will waste his time.

I guarantee all these marks talking smack will not put their money where their mouth is.

Easy to talk all big when you are not willing to back it up. Then again, does anyone from this community even have $5K? And I am not talking about getting free $$$ from the government.

BG has never played a team that runs the jumbo package 90% of the game and wear you down physically with big RBs and Linemen. If you go back to tecmo bowl days its the goal line play, every play, the whole game. That is true smash mouth.

How many of you that played tecmo bowl ran the goal line play every down the entire game? none of you? thats what kahuku does in real life and BG has never had to defend a team like that. Mark my words this is not just another game for BG

  47. Tutu Kane Ale September 13, 2016 4:24 pm

88 are you allowed to bet using food stamps or your EBT Card? I am pretty sure that Vegas doesn’t allow you to use your government assisted funds.

I love how 88 talks big and then try to re-direct his comments back at others to mask what is really going on. And that is he isn’t willing to put his money where his mouth is. And if he had money, which he doesn’t, he still wouldn’t do it.

    All Talk!

Straight up. You take Kahuku. I take BG. $2500 minimum bet. You down? We can both meet Paul Honda and he will hold the money. I figure a big dawg like you has $2500 walking around money. Let’s go.
