Sophomore running back KJ Pascua rushed for a career-high 190 yards and five touchdowns to help ‘Iolani top 60 points in a game for the first time in the Prep Bowl/state championship era with a 62-19 win over Pac-Five on Saturday night at Aloha Stadium.
Pascua and backup Storm Lotomau, who had 122 rushing yards, became the first ‘Iolani duo to top 100 rush yards in the same ILH game since Ryan Dung and Justin Yamamoto accomplished the feat in a win over Damien in 2006.
The Raiders bested the previous mark of 57 points set in a 57-49 win over Damien in 2005.
Pascua rushed for four touchdowns in the first half as ‘Iolani built a 48-6 lead at the break.
Quarterback Austin Jim On completed 12 of 20 passes for 158 yards with touchdown throws of 10 yards to Keoni-Kordell Makekau and 25 to Connor Ohira as the Raiders extended their winning streak against the Wolf Pack to 13 games dating back to 2007.
‘Iolani (3-1, 2-1) took over sole possession of first place in the ILH Division II race.
Raiders linebacker Corbin Morisada led the defense with two sacks and an interception.
Pac-Five quarterback Kainoa Ferreira finished 21-for-38 for 291 yards and two touchdowns. Jarrod Infante had nine receptions for 150 yards and senior Tsubasa Brennan, the ILH’s leading receiver, finished with eight catches for 73 yards.
