Holtz sneaks and the officials mark him short. Fourth down. :37 left. Clock starts and Damien lets it run to :11.6. Ball is inches from the goalline. Iaea again up the middle and there’s the signal. TOUCHDOWN DAMIEN. Clock keeps running but is reset to :03. PAT good.

Deacon Kapea breaks loose around the left side for 21 yards. Pass interference on third-and-8 extends Waipahu’s drive. First down at the Damien 38. Marauders face third-and-12, or third-and-17 after a delay of game. Damien takes is second timeout of the half. 3:36 Q4. Marques completes a short throw to Tote, but Duke Ho’ohuli rips it away and takes it back to the Waipahu 42. 3:05 Q4.

Waipahu bring pressure on Holtz on third down and his pass sails out of bounds. On fourth-and-8, a screen pass to Sulu falls incomplete. Waipahu ball at its 26. 6:29 Q4.

Marques is intercepted by Bubba Kauhi who brings it back to the Waipahu 13. Personal foul on Damien. Monarchs ball at the Waipahu 28. Holtz back in at QB. 7:56 Q4.

Sevilleja returns the kickoff to the 42. On third and 2, Waipahu drops Sulu for a loss of 2 and the Monarchs punt. Waipahu ball at its 23. 8:08 Q4

Marques hits Saxon Tote for 8 yards on third-and-6. Quarter ends the Waipahu at the Damien 44. On fourth-and-3, Marques goes up top to Fiesta for 28 yards to the Damien 13. After a no-gain on first down, Marques rolls right and fires to Saxon Tote who makes a diving grab. TOUCHDOWN WAIPAHU. PAT good. 10:27 Q4.

Duke Ho’ohuli in at QB for Damien. Monarchs quickly go three-and-out. Waipahu takes over at its 40. 1:21 Q3.

Pass interference gives Waipahu a first down at its 43. On third-and-10 Marques finds Fiesta for 21 yards to the Damien 36. Waipahu faces third and 15 and Marques scrambles for 14 yards to the 26. Timeout Waipahu then Damien takes its first timeout. 2:25 Q3. Marques sneaks for it and is stacked up. They’ll measure. Short. Damien  ball at its 27.

Holtz hits Sevilleja on third and 10 on a deep post for 38 yards to the Waipahu 44. Monarchs convert on third-and-1 to get to the 21. But Waipahu comes up with back-to-back sacks to push Damien back to the 38 and Holtz’s third-down pass is picked off by Antolin. Waipahu ball at its 28. 4:14 Q3.

Damien loses 7 yards on first down and can’t recover. Souza’s punt goes high and not very far. Waipahu ball at its 27. Marauders go three-and-out as well. Sevilleja returns the punt 77 yards to the house, but it’ll come back due to a personal foul on a big block. Damien ball at its 18.

Waipahu will receive the kickoff to start the third quarter. The kick goes out of bounds, Waipahu ball at its 35. Marques’ first pass of the half it intercepted by Kevin Edwards, who brings it back to the Waipahu 33.

Marauders try a hook-and-ladder but the lateral hits the turf and Damien recovers. Holtz goes deep for Sevillja but Zeondre Benjamin is there for the interception. Waipahu takes a knee. Whew.

Marques hits Matthew Fiesta for 11 on third and 5. Bubble screen to Branson Jay Reyes picks up another 11 thanks to blocking on the perimeter. Another mesh fumble nearly derails the drive but Waipahu recovers. Timeout Damien with Waipahu facing fourth-and-2 at the Damien 31. Pass falls incomplete. Damien ball at its 31, 1:46 Q2.

Monarchs convert on third-and-2. Holtz has a pass nearly intercepted, his third down throw is broken up by CB Tarynce Antolin. Monarchs punt. Waipahu ball at its 34.

Waipahu starts at its 20. Marques scrambles for 10, three runs gets the Marauders to the 39 to face fourth and 1. Timeout Damien. Marques keeps in around the right side, gets a crushing block by a receiver and breaks free for 41 yards to the Damien 20. Marauders recover their own fumble for a loss of 6. A third-down sack brings up fourth-and-20 at the 30. Marques completes a pass to Jovan Gooman well short of the marker. Damien ball at its 16.

A mishandled exchange is recovered by Damien’s Ezra Kaina at the Waipahu 6. Lauti goes up for the 5, River Iaea finishes from the 1. TOUCHDOWN DAMIEN. PAT blocked. 9:39 Q2.

A holding call on Damien wipes out a 14-yard gain on first down and the Monarchs are forced to punt. Marauders called for roughing the punter, first down Damien at the Waipahu 48. Holtz converts on third-and-6 with an 8-yard completion to Lindon Sevilleja, who hangs on despite a hard hit. Quarter ends with Damien at the Waipahu 36. Drive stalls and Damien punts again. Christian Souza’s kick lands inside the 5, turns left and goes out of bounds at the Waipahu 2.

Marques is dropped for a 5-yard loss on first down, scrambles for 4 on third down and Waipahu punts.

Holtz completes a 19-yard pass to Jarvis Natividad to get to midfield. Completion to River Iaea picks up 10 yards on third-and-11. Waipahu’s Abraham Montero drops Holtz for no gain on fourth down. Waipahu ball at its 31.

Waipahu RB Alfred Failauga is not suited up, but QB Cody Marques goes 4-for-4 for 24 yards on the Maruaders’ opening possession. Waipahu gets to the 10 and Brycen Amorozo connects on a 27-yard FIELD GOAL. 6:40 Q1.

Damien starts at its 29 and Logan Lauti picks up 18 yards on a reverse but a procedure penalty brings it back. A low snap to QB Jake Holtz results in a loss of 2 and his next two throws sail high. Monarchs punt. Waipahu ball at the Damien 38.

Waipahu wins the toss and defers. Damien will receive the opening kickoff.
