9:22: After a 43-yard McGary run, Coltyn Cruse-Gombio scores on an 8-yard TD run. Tom-Makue adds the extra point. LEILEHUA 38, KAILUA 14. 4:35 left in game.

9:11: Tom-Makue’s 25-yard field goal goes wide.

9:04: After a trade of punts, McGary rattles off runs of 32 and 10 yards to the Kailua 13.

9:02: Looks like Mejia is going to take an ambulance ride to the hospital. He had walked off the field with just a little bit of help. And he was standing on the sideline being evaluated when the ambulance arrived.

8:55: Jeremy Evans gains 39 yards on an Andres pass. Ball is at the Kailua 41. Leilehua’s march stalls and the Mules punt.

8:51: Kailua can’t go farther and punts.

8:48: On first down, Mejia finds a hole in the middle of the line and runs 52 yards to the Leilehua 46. He is shaken up on the play and leaves the game.

8:47: Kailua tried to run the blocked ball back and only made it to the 2.

8:44: Tom-Makue’s 25-yard field goal attempt is blocked.

8:36: McGary goes over the 200-yard mark with two straight 25-yard runs. Leilehua has the ball at the Kailua 11.

8:32: On third down, Mejia finds Samson Rasay in the middle of the end zone for a 4-yard touchdown. LEILEHUA 31, KAILUA 14. 8:10 left in the third quarter.

8:26: Alika Teramoto blocks a Leilehua punt and recovers the ball at the Mules’ 7.

7:56: Three incomplete passes and a tackle for loss by Kailua’s Hanawahine-Wong stalls Leilehua’s drive. Kailua takes over on downs with less than a minute to go in the half.

7:53: Jerome Holliday picks off a long Mejia pass and returns it 21 yards to the Kailua 25.

7:50: The Mules drive 69 yards and finish it on Tom-Makue’s 25-yard field goal. LEILEHUA 31, KAILUA 7, 1:58 left in second quarter.

7:40: Mejia takes a called keeper 13 yards into the end zone. He almost doesn’t make it and gets whacked at the goal line by a Leilehua defender, but does cross the goal line. Alika Teramoto adds the extra-point kick. LEILEHUA 28, KAILUA 7, 5:51 to go in first half.

7:34: Richard Shimasaki tackles Kailua wildcat quarterback Kealoha Hanawahine-Wong for a 7-yard loss. Kailua is also hurt by a 5-yard false start penalty. It’s fourth and goal from the 13. Leilehua calls timeout.

7:30: Mejia throws a 44-yard pass to Tanner Wright. And then, three plays later, as he is about to brought down, Mejia throws a flare to Wright, who rambles 29 yards to the Leilehua 3.

7:23: McGary bursts through the line for a 40-yard touchdown. Tom-Makue kicks the extra point. LEILEHUA 28, KAILUA 0, 9:47 to go in the first half.

7:13: Kawika Sinclair and Odin Mersberg come through with tackles for losses for Leilehua on Kailua’s next possession. The Surfriders punt for the fourth time on four possessions. Leilehua takes over at its own 49.

7:10: Andres goes down the right sideline and finds Jeremy Ramos for a 29-yard touchdown. LEILEHUA 21, KAILUA 0, 11:46 left in second quarter.

SECOND QUARTER

7:06: McGary sweeps left for another first down. First quarter ends.

7:04: McGary runs for 10 yards and a first down, and Furtado catches two Andres passes for 29 yards and two more first downs.

7:01: Leilehua’s Richard Shimasaki bats down a pass on second down and then sacks Mejia for a 9-yard loss on third down. Kailua punts for the third time in three possessions.

6:58: Mejia scrambles out of trouble and gains 16 yards to the Surfriders’ 42.

6:54: James McGary takes a handoff up the middle and breaks tackles early and late during the 56-yard TD run on the first play of the Mules’ second possession. Tom-Makue adds the extra point. LEILEHUA 14, KAILUA 0, 4:54 left in first quarter.

6:50: Kailua is tackled for two losses and quarterback Aaron Mejia just gets off an incomplete pass to avoid a sack. Kailua punts. Leilehua ball at its own 45.

6:46: Andres finds a streaking Jeremy Evans down the left sideline for a 30-yard touchdown. Akoni Tom-Makue kicks the extra point. LEILEHUA 7, KAILUA 0, 7:37 to go in the first quarter.

6:44: Dorian Furtado has two receptions so far. Leilehua ball at the Kailua 30.

6:42: Leilehua moving with Kona Andres at quarterback.

6:41: Mules ball at their own 43.


6:40: Kailua gets the ball first, goes three and out and punts.
