(2:21) Mililani ball on its 10 as Raysen Motoyama is hurt on the kick return.

(8:40) Bosco ball on the 37. A screen pass for 4 yards and flags are flying all over the place. Illegal man downfield on the offense. Targeting on the defense. And unsportsmanlike conduct on Loya. Only that foul counts. Now a 15-yard face-mask penalty on Mililani. Scary moment for Mililani as Hoohuli is down after a play. Hoohuli hobbles off. Rayshon Luke 27-yard TD run. 42-10, 2:31, Q4.

Late hit on the kickoff and now all hell is breaking loose. Way late hit on Alcover.

(11:43) Trojans ball on their 29. OH NO. Kai Banks takes an awful helmet-to-helmet hit. He is down, his helmet comes flying off. That Bosco DB should be out of here. Brutal. JonJon Vaughns has been ejected. That was awful. He gets up and walks off under his own power but be careful here now. This could get a little nuts. Ball at midfield. Bosco gets another 15-yard penalty on a coach for unsportsmanlike conduct. Another flag as guys are getting chippy. This was easy to see after the hit on Banks. Mililani first-and-10 on the Bosco 17. Another defensive penalty and these are obvious calls. Ball inside the 10. Third-and-goal at the 1. Malosi Sam 1-yard TD run. Bosco 35, Mililani 10, 8:50, Q4.

Bosco quarterback DJ Uiagalelei (5) has accounted for four touchdowns against Mililani. Photo by Steven Erler/Special to the Star-Advertiser.

Bosco third-and-5 to start the fourth quarter. Uiagalelei under pressure and tries to flip it away and Micah Kim ALMOST gets a pick. Poor decision there by Uiagalelei. Trojans still fighting and force a punt.

  4. Lou September 21, 2019 7:33 pm

Too much weapons. Burning that secondary of millville.

  5. 94 September 21, 2019 7:43 pm

These guys are huge and STL is no where close to what these guys are but Mililani D is hold them down.

  6. "UNITY=STRENGTH" September 21, 2019 7:55 pm

Way to go Trojan’s scored 3 on the brave’s other teams zero good play’s on offense moving some and solid defense stoppage on the run’s on the number two team in the nation still another half to go keep going!!!:)

  7. 94 September 21, 2019 8:00 pm

Beside the two interceptions for touchdowns. These guys can’t run on Mililani. D Showing up and shutting down the run and the pass. Hmm making me think how next week game will be. Still got time let’s go Trojans.

  8. V. Masaniai September 21, 2019 8:32 pm

94 you’re dreaming brah STL will destroy Mililani next week. Punahou is the real deal and STL still won with 6 red zone turnovers. You’ll see.

  9. Mill parent September 21, 2019 8:33 pm

Mililani got more sole then Farrington. I just don’t see it in the commmunity. Got choke orientals at Mililani Towne SC. OIA gotta do something about Yorks recruits. There must be 25 transfers. All those true mI’ll vill brotherhood was transfered out to make room for Yorks transfers. Terrible.

  10. "UNITY=STRENGTH" September 21, 2019 8:43 pm

Number #20 out for tonight dont play him keep him safe check and watch!!!

  11. Lou September 21, 2019 8:47 pm

    Dang, Banks got blow up.

  12. 96730to89 September 21, 2019 8:52 pm

Watching this game live and I can totally see SBJ is on an entire new level. The game was never in doubt. Some Mililani kids did put on a good show. I bet Ho’ohuli, Sam, Iosefa, and possibly Pasternik(?) get more looks. Their speed and aggression stood out.

York…you gotta be more creative when going up this kind of talent.

  13. Lou September 21, 2019 8:53 pm

Now Mill is playing no class. Alcove small man, eject him.

  14. JB September 21, 2019 8:54 pm

Sad to see the disrespectful actions of Bosco during Hawai’i Ponoi. Not to mention the targetting. They may be the highest ranked team, but you can’t teach class. Rather have locals with respect that have heart, than to be a mainland school without respect.

  15. Lou September 21, 2019 8:56 pm

York transfers out of control, come on, show class Mill.

  16. 808 September 21, 2019 9:09 pm

mill vill poor sports where the aloha spirit

  17. 94 September 21, 2019 9:11 pm

STL would get smash by ST John. STL should worry when they play Mililani next week. It’s not going to be a walk in the park.

  18. Big dog September 21, 2019 9:12 pm

Millilani terrible attitudes. Poor sportsmanship. Coach has no control over his players. Too bad the Bosco boy Got ejected. He’s a big kid safety 6’2” 220lbs. lowering the blow, was a clean hit from the replay.I hope the Mililani boy is OK.
But too bad for the Bosco boy got ejected this is a big-time college hit.

  19. FTBL September 21, 2019 9:40 pm

The officiating was horrendous, talk about calling it for the home team. When the St. John guy was thrown down 5 yards out of bounds no ejection, and then targeting by Hoohuli .. not international ??? If your going to call it call it both ways. Don’t be protecting the cheap shots because they play St. Louis next week. There should also be a real championship game between #1 vs #2, not 1 vs 3.

  20. 96730to89 September 21, 2019 9:40 pm

94…don’t be so sure. Would STL beat SBJ, probably not, but it would be a shoot out. The victory would be in the 7-14 point range. The SBJ secondary and LBs wouldn’t be able to keep pace with the STL receivers. I watched Millz receivers burn by them many times. The QB just struggled to see it. De Laura would be able to make those plays and some fancy footwork in there as well. The SBJ QB would then, in return, show us a lot more of what he’s capable of doing. He didn’t need to show much tonight.

STL catches a break playing Millz after this one. A lot of bruises gotta heal quick.

  21. Robocop September 21, 2019 9:45 pm

What about a 42-10 loss makes you think Mililani will do well against St Louis? I mean I guess the upside is it wasn’t worse. Bosco gave up 175 penalties yards

  22. 94 September 21, 2019 10:07 pm

St. John is not a Bishop Gorman team. Just saying.

  23. jojo September 21, 2019 10:29 pm

Terrible sportsmanship from some of the SJB players and coaches, tired of these catholic schools not living what they believe and preach.

  24. Things that make you go hmmmmm September 21, 2019 10:36 pm

    Mill kids out of control?
    Direct reflection of the coach.

Big hit by the Bosco player, don’t think it was meant to be malicious, as a lot of you know, it’s tough when you’re just going hard to the ball.
Ho’ohuli did the same (targeting), should have been ejected too (just to call it fairly).
#23 was definitely flagrant and appeared to be done in retaliation. Should have been ejected.

Should be an interesting game next week (no doubt StL puts up another W). It’s just a matter of how much they will win by.
Tons of uncalled holding on StL OL (like always), but it’s hardly called.

  25. Born808.BayAreaRaised September 22, 2019 12:32 am

Didnt watch only followed through this blog, thank you for the play-by-play updates.

Not surprised by the outcome. The trojans faced a similar foe in Liberty of Nevada and the results of those games kind of showed what would happen in the head-to-head matchup. 42-10 could of easily been 63-3.

Lets be honest, a private school will always have the upper hand over a public school.
Look at the rosters of these private schools, kids from all over the place with size and speed to rival some decent college schools.
Its not the coaching that makes these private schools successful its the talent they pull in.
In California, SoCal and NorCal play by a different set of rules. SoCal is known to have recruits and transfers…throughout there private schooling programs. In NorCal its a different story. You rarely see it done. The rules are strict and in all cases the student athlete will lose a year of eligibility and the school would be penalized.

DeLaSalle from Concord, ca in NorCal is the standard of all high school football. Just look at their roster year in year out its small not so big and the kids size etc are far from what you see in Bosco, Mater Dei, St Louis etc. The kids are coached to play from the first and last whistle. Effort, discipline, and perseverance are taught from the get.

LETS NOT FORGET THAT MATER DEI AND BOSCO HEAVILY RECRUITED AND TRANSFERRED KIDS IN SOLELY TO COMPETE AGAINST DELASALLE BECAUSE THE TRINITY LEAGUE IN SOCAL WERE TIRED OF THAT LITTLE SCHOOL FROM UP NORTH KICKING THEIR ASSES IN FOOTBALL.

In 2000 i believe DeLaSalle and Poly of LongBeach were #1 and #2 in California vs #1 and #2 of Hawai’i. Poly smashed Kahuku and DeLaSalle dominated St Louis. I remeber StLouis fans were laughing when DeLaSalle was walking out of the tunnell being introduced. They were making fun of the size of the DeLaSalle players compared to StLouis.

“Aww StLouis going smash these guys” Far from it.

  26. James guy September 22, 2019 1:17 am

Disappointed in how soft Hawaii football is. The players are so tiny. Jonjon is a 215 pound safety going to ucla. The kid he hit was a 150 pound sophomore. Mililani fans were complaining??? That was some soft ass football. Invest in your weight room or dont play the big boys.

  27. Born808.BayAreaRaised September 22, 2019 5:10 am

    James guy>

Bosco is a private school that recruits and transfers kids in on a yearly. Dont you know Bosco has a kid on their team that played on the same Mililani team last year? Mililani is a public school not private.

    Hawai’i always had talent.

  28. ItIsWhatItIs September 22, 2019 6:54 am

    @born808
I agree that private has a slight advantage because of what they can offer to these kids and parents. But don’t get it twisted Mililani is heavy in the recuritng game! D1 talent comes in yearly. I’m not saying I’m against or for it, I’m just saying it happens. Public schools don’t have the sit rule, and this new GE waiver program is a joke. As far as the game…. I wish Walter(the games white hat) got the 2 coaches together and said tell your boys enough!! But either way I’m glad #20 is ok. Shout out to both teams.. looking forward to Mili vs STL

  29. Question September 22, 2019 6:56 am

Out of curiosity, how many of MiliLouis’ starting 22 on O and D are “legit” from Mililani (lives with their parent(s) in the Mililani community, not on a DE or living with an older sibling, relatives, friends, etc)?

  30. jojo September 22, 2019 7:09 am

The SJB db knew full well what he was about to do, it was a cheap shot and the reward (highlight reel of knocking a helpless wr out) was greater then the punishment (ejection from a game they already had in the bag).

This SJB db represents his family, his head coach and his heritage and sadly enough it appears to be a long line of unethical no-class behavior.

  31. […] run later in the half to make it 14-3, and Mililani didn’t have much of an answer after that: Bosco won 42-10 Saturday, according to Hawaii Prep World. Here’s what we […]

  32. Kimo September 22, 2019 8:07 am

Mililani defense is tough and played outstanding against Bosco. I believe that St. Louis would have gave Bosco alot of problems. Crusaders offense is alot better than Mililani’s at this point of the season. As for the ejection I thought it was a football play, 220lbs hitting 150lbs will always turn out bad. The 2 Mililani players should have been ejected also, but I understand why they weren’t. If ejected they would have to sit out next weeks game. So let us move on and get ready for a great a great game next week.

  33. Lou September 22, 2019 9:34 am

For the fools like 94 who complain about recruiting. York sets the new standards. After a Mililani student sued the DOE for transfer rules, the gates are wide open. Amina,Hoohuli westside. Waianae got an OPEN team. Play for Waianae. Other linemen from Kalihi, play for Farrington. From Kapolei or Ewa, play at Campbell or Kapolei. These recruiting bs is what caused the St.Louis dynasty that destroyed the ILH during the 80-90s. Give the oriental kids that actually live in Mililani a chance. They deserve it. Man Coach Millhouse had honor.

  34. 94 September 22, 2019 10:26 am

LOU let’s get this straight…I never complain about Mililani recruiting. I only complain on how one sided you are and how you put the Mililani team down. You just a hater who probably never got the chance to play any football. Probably you ended up as ended as a bench warmer if anything.

    No further comment…..

  35. T. Tanaka September 22, 2019 10:35 am

Lou agree that 94’s analysis is flawed not sure if he’s a bonafide fool but your assertion is plausible based on his delusional prediction that Mililani will give give STL a good game and SJB would smash STL. 94 sounds like Notes. Man someone really needs to monitor this dude’s medication schedule late at night when most of his rants occur. Mililani and Campbell recruit more than any OIA team in the 808.

  36. MiliLouis September 22, 2019 11:04 am

    @94
    “No further comment “???
    Lol
Get and use your own line….

  37. Kimo September 22, 2019 12:49 pm

Mililani has a shot at beating St. Louis. Their offense better show up or it’s going to be a long night. St. Louis defense is the best in the state hands down. Mililani’s defense is pretty good and the front 7 played lights out. Crusaders offense is the difference and right now they are clicking on all cylinders. Going to be interesting watching the St. Louis transfers playing against their old teammates. Goodluck to both teams

the person who started all this recruiting is cal lee and the ILH schools. the easiest way to fix this and put our keiki before profits is to immediately end the open division and kick the ILH out of the state tournament. if the ILH wants to recruit then they can play in their own league and kam, punahou, and st louis can play each other over and over again and crown themselves winners of the recruiting state championships. at this point, it’s not even about about coaching. it’s just about who has the best players and you have a coach out there just to teach them the basics and keep them in line.

look at st john bosco. this is the kind of future that cal lee wants for our kids. some super semi pro team beating up on community kids and then leaving for a bigger payout. that’s the kind of community the ILH wants from us but we need to put a stop to this. if ILH wants to recruit to keep their schools open with tuition money then let them. but we dont’ have to play their game. they can make super teams and travel around the country and play all the st johns boskos in the country. go! let them! and let the real community football with the real state championships be played by the real schools and football teams

also i’m telling you guys this right now, if bosco comes to la’ie, theyre not gonna play against a bunch of 150 pound sophomores. let’s see that safety make that hit against the big boys up in the north shore. RRFL!

Finally, another guy with Common Sense…

Wait so it’s ok for York to recruit other OIA players to dominate the OIA, but not for the ILH to do it for the states ? Double standards ? It’s doesnt help when the officiating is also rigged, two Mililani players should have been ejected last night, but they weren’t ejected because they would miss the St. Louis game. Really what are the rules really for if they are not enforced fairly

  41. Lou September 22, 2019 4:29 pm

Lol, game line says St.John vs.Mililani, yet 94 throwing shade like, St.Louis never seen a BIG team like SJB and they ain’t Gorman. Huh? Get over it. Gorman would have destroyed Minilani. Who says Mililani front 7 is playing lights out? Lol, with St.Louis it’s how the dB or the other 4 plays, which is terrible.

  42. Kimo September 22, 2019 4:39 pm

Lou. I said that Mililani’s front 7 played lights out and they did. Their db’s struggled and St. Louis will exploit that weakness. I give credit where credit is warranted, Bosco couldn’t run the ball but Mililani with the pass. And I think the Crusaders passing is just as good if not better than Bosco’s

  43. ToppDoggs September 22, 2019 6:27 pm

Millville got a lot of stud transfers but Crusaders still own the 808!

1st off STL 28 Kah 0…@ the half so let’s get it out of our heads that SBJ would not destroy Kah.

2nd if the ILH is an evil empire then La’ie/Wai’anae/Kapolei/Ewa/etc. should just stop sending their kids there. Kahuku once kept their kids home. They won many titles using community pride. All those years have been swept away by the current admin and their foolish politics.

3rd SBJ could have ran on Mililani, but why run and risk injuring your QB when you can toss darts through the secondary. SBJ had so much speed that Mililani literally double covered a SBJ wideout like dbs cover flankers on punt return coverage. They knew the Mililani weakness and exposed it 50 different ways. The offense was creative.

Lastly. I think STL could compete with SBJ. Win….probably not, but they could make it respectable. Maybe a 7 to 14 point spread. STL has speed on offense and could put up points. I just don’t think they’d stop SBJ’s offense. That 42 on Mililani was effortless.

  45. ??? September 22, 2019 7:14 pm

Mililani D is GOOD…. QB Agabayani is the problem for Mililani offense he can’t play any other QB that Coach York can put against St. Louis for the next game….Mililani QB Agbayani should play OL or choose any other position…Coach York you should recruit QB for next year

  46. Jimmy Weeks September 23, 2019 4:02 am

First, the White Hat in the game was Robert Victor (not Walter as someone had suggested) and he’s from Mililani and his kids previously played for Mililani Pop Warner prior to their Millville Youth Football Program. Second,Alcover and Hoohuli should’ve been ejected. Third it wouldn’t matter if Victor brought the teams together because both programs have Pilau Head Coaches. Fourth, ???, Notes (and all your other names) I read your posts that make some very valid points about STL dominance (btw they don’t have to recruit at this point kids just want to go there at this point and play for the best program in the state) and the ILH , yet you’re so oblivious to the recruiting that Mililani and Campbell have been doing for years that is destroying the balance of the OIA. Kahuku’s 2nd best RB Liloa Kaluna catches the bus to and from Palolo every day. Now if a kid or his family is that committed to playing for another school, then that’s their choice. York has a huge van that picks up kids in Kalihi every day, Campbell’s Aina Chavez is from Kalihi, their QB from Kailua, and on and on. If you want the kids to stay in their respective communities then give them a good reason to stay home like having solid academic programs, safe school environments and competitive athletic programs. I’m not saying its easy but its better than spending 2-3 hours commuting on our crowded highways every day.

Wait! Didn’t SL already play Bosco a few years ago? (Remember the Rosen One?) Granted, this edition of the Crusaders is, arguably, a stronger version of that team but then again, a similar argument can be made for Bosco, right?

Comparing this year’s SL team to Gorman? Well, that was settled earlier in THIS season as well…quite decisively.

Comparing this year’s SL team to DLS from 2000? MJD has already retired from the NFL so that is kinda pointless and Marcedes Lewis is on the backside of his NFL career, too.

As far as the “recruiting” that was “started” at Kalaepohaku…hah??? The ILH-OIA split happened in 1970 long before Cal even graduated HS (BTW from an OIA school) And besides, don’t we all love to live vicariously on Saturdays and Sundays as the keiki o ka aina successfully “rep da 808” in the NCAA and the NFL? How is that gonna happen if (and I am not disparaging these schools, BTW) Kalaheo and Damien meet for the State championship one year? Then McKinley and Iolani fight it out the next? (which did happen nearly 30 years ago)

  48. Akamai Okole September 23, 2019 6:15 am

Correction: Lewis was on the LB-Poly team that scorched Kahuku after the SL-DLS game

  49. 4th & Long September 23, 2019 8:25 am

Akamai Okole….unreal good memory. I went to both of those games and arguably that STL team was one of their weaker teams. MJD was awesome and Liufau (Andre’) was a stud DT for STL. Kahuku was also down that year too.

  50. Cryhyn September 23, 2019 7:11 pm

Lol, Jimmy Weaks, you say a rb catches a bus from Palolo, transfers at Ala Moana, out to Kahuku, every morning and evening? School is at.0755hrs. That means he has to catch the bus at 5 am. So he gets up at 0415? Okay, let’s try bus back. Practice finish at 6 pm. Dinner? Homework? Gets home 830 pm. For a sub rb? Kaimuki has a good team.
