A defensive pass interference puts the ball in Kalani territory and then Zak Javillonar comes down with a jump ball for a 19-yard reception with a minute to go. Three straight incomplete passes and it’s a turnover on downs.

(9:45) Tamatase Sauta with an 8-yard run for Kohala’s longest play from scrimmage and its second first down.

MJ Macaspac gets a sack and then Justus Ventura tackles Lim on fourth down and Kohala has the ball back.

Freshman Easton Hoshida gets his turn at QB. Kohala’s punter drops the snap and Kalani takes over on the Kohala 28.

(2:40) Lee’s first completion is 41 yards to Dillon Cortez and then he finds Jake Lee for the 13-yard TD. 21-0, 1:34.

(3:46) Cowboys ball on their 28. Freshman Keith Benedicto with a 4-yard reception and Kealoha scrambles for 5 yards and is inches short. Kealoha with the sneak on first down and Kohala has a first down. Kalani’s Pathan Silva-Garces with an INT.

(5:34) Zhane Ching with a 4-yard run and Kohala gets positive yards for the first time. Kalani’s Nicolas Sakamoto, the full-time QB for the Falcons, last year, comes off the edge with a strip-sack that Kohala recovers. Cowboys punt. Wakea Kanahele returns a blocked punt 2 yards for a Kalani TD. 14-0, 4:00, Q2.

(7:40) A penalty brings back Pathan Silva-Garces‘ 40-yard punt return to the 3. Falcons start on their 44. Zyan Caravalho comes off the edge and gets a sack and then again causes a mess on third down for another sack. Falcons punt.

(8:54) Cowboys go three-and-out as Kealoha’s second complete pass is again for a loss of 9.

(10:21) Falcons start on their 36. Sophomore Logan Lim starts at QB. Nathaniel Balangitao picks up 19 and 6 and then scores on an 11-yard TD run. Falcons up 7-0, 9:04, Q1.


(11:52) Junior Ryan Juan Kealoha starts at QB for the Cowboys. He completes his second pass short for a loss of 9 and the Cowboys are three-and-out.

Kalani wins the toss and will receive. Zhane Ching, Legend Libron, Damien Padilla and MJ Macaspac are the captains for Kohala. Nicholas Sakamoto and Logan Lim are captains for the Falcons.
