GAME NIGHT 8/15: Campbell/Farrington

No. 5 Campbell 41, Farrington 6, FINAL

 

10:10: The running clock runs out and Campbell (1-1) wins 41-6 for its first victory of the season. Farrington (0-3) is still winless.

10:01: Ceruti hauls in his second long touchdown of the day, a 57-yard pass from Hipa with 5:38 remaining. Taylor’s kick enables the running clock, giving Campbell a 41-6 lead.


9:56: Sheesh. Titus Mokiao-Atimalala brings the thunder on a fourth-down sack, giving Campbell the ball back on their own 30 with 8:07 left.

9:50: Farrington gets the ball at the Campbell 36 after the Sabers punt with 11:06 left in the fourth.

FOURTH QUARTER

9:47: End of the third. Campbell takes a 34-6 lead into the fourth quarter.

9:46: Campbell gets the ball back on its own 26 after a fumble recovery by Dylen-Joseph Fonseca-Juan with 33 seconds left in the third.

9:43: Farrington is driving, now at the Campbell 10. The Saber coaches call timeout with 49 seconds left in the third.

9:33: HOUSE CALL. Kaipo Enos-Ho with a 36-yard pick-six for Campbell. The Campbell lead is now 34-6 with 6:44 left in the third after Taylor’s PAT.

9:28: Touchdown Campbell, Hipa finds Titus Mokiao-Atimalala for a seven-yard score. Taylor’s PAT is good and Campbell’s lead is now 27-6 with 7:32 left in the third.

9:26: And Campbell gets the ball right back on the Farrington 25 after a fumble.

9:25: Farrington gets the ball back on its own 9 after Campbell drives down the field but turns the ball over on downs.

9:16: Campbell starts off the second half from its own 38 after a squib on the kickoff.

THIRD QUARTER

8:58: Campbell has a shot to score at the Farrington 39 but Hipa’s pass is short as time expires. The Sabers lead 20-6 at halftime and will receive to start the second half.

8:48: The Sabers get the ball back after Peter Manuma recovers a fumble on the Campbell 17 with 1:31 left in the half.

8:45: Momentum is starting to turn towards Farrington. Campbell turns it over on downs on their own 41, and Farrington has another chance to score with 3:12 left in the half.

8:37: TOUCHDOWN FARRINGTON. Jonah Aina-Chaves‘ four-yard rush cuts the Campbell lead to 20-6 after a botched snap on the extra point attempt. But it’s the first touchdown for Farrington this season, and it took three games to do it. That had to feel good for the Govs.

8:36: Campbell calls timeout as Farrington faces third-and-inches at the Sabers’ 4, 5:07 left in the first half.

8:32: During a Campbell punt, a senseless hit on a defenseless player standing still gives Farrington its best field position of the day at the Campbell 12 with 5:28 left in the first half.


8:29: Consecutive penalties back Campbell up to its own 6. Tamatoa Mokiao-Atimalala is down briefly but backs back to the sideline on his own power.

8:27: Farrington is forced to punt again, and Campbell will look to add to its lead from its own 22 with 7:02 left in the first.

8:25: Millare gets up by his own power, which is definitely a good sign, but he has to get carted off the field. Play is set to resume.

8:21: Injury break as Raymond Millare goes down after a four-yard rush for Farrington to the Governors’ 41. Hopefully he’s OK.

8:18: Jonan Aina-Chaves takes a direct snap two yards for another touchdown. Taylor’s PAT is good and Campbell stretches its lead to 20-0 with 8:29 left in the second quarter.

SECOND QUARTER

8:10: The first quarter ends with Campbell leading 13-0. The Sabers start the second quarter in Farrington territory.

8:06: Farrington chooses to punt on fourth-and-inches from the Campbell 45. The Sabers get the ball back on their own 14 with 1:06 left in the first.

8:02: First play from scrimmage on the new drive is a 60-YARD TOUCHDOWN FROM HIPA TO Zavier Ceruti. Ceruti went deep, was ahead of his man by more than a few steps, and Hipa hit him in stride. Chase Taylor‘s PAT is good and Campbell leads 13-0 with 2:12 left in the first.

8:00: Farrington picks up its first first down but can’t advance further. Campbell gets the ball back on its own 40 with 2:24 left in the first.

7:56: Farrington will be start from its own 30 with 5:10 left in the first.

7:53: TOUCHDOWN CAMPBELL. Blaine Hipa rolls out to his left on fourth-and-long and finds Titus Mokiao-Atimalala at the back of the end zone in double coverage for a 20-yard score. The kick is no good but Campbell leads 6-0 with 5:22 left in the first.

7:48: Farrington goes three-and-out again. Neither of these teams have picked up a first down thus far. Campbell gets to the Farrington 29 after a nice return by Tamatoa Mokiao-Atimalala.

7:43: Impressive first defensive possession for Farrington, who holds Campbell to a three-and-out after two tackles for loss. The Govenors get the ball back on their own 11 with 9:10 left in the first.

7:41: Campbell’s aggressive defense comes out and sacks Darius Chaffin on the first play, then causes a three-and-out. The Sabers will start from the Farrington 39 after a deflected punt, 10:32 left in the first.

7:37: Farrington will start from its own 21.

FIRST QUARTER

7:35: Campbell wins the toss and will defer to the second half. Farrington will receive the opening kickoff momentarily. Here we go.


7:10 p.m.: Farrington wins the JV game 15-0, and the varsity game will kick off in about 20 minutes, if not a few minutes later.

    Farrington D talked a lot of smack before the punahou game.
    Especially the unproven players.
    I don’t get how any player could still be talking after a poor performance.
    Another smack down for a second week in a row.
    I guess talk is ………
