COMMENTS

  1. 2ndstring November 29, 2019 7:58 pm

Looks like the saints went right after Kahuku’s best CB. I’m surprised at the start but the Men of Kalaepokahu looking sharp…..if this game isn’t competitive the north shore fans won’t be posting. And i do enjoy the back and forth.

  2. Football Fan November 29, 2019 8:07 pm

This game is over. I am watching the game. STL is all over them. Kahuku has no answer. One dimensional offense. Vanilla playbook. Less skill. They should turn the mercy rule on right now.

  3. 88 November 29, 2019 8:13 pm

That’s was a BullShet call to bring that Pick 6 back…

  4. Wainakea November 29, 2019 8:14 pm

“I am watching the game” “This game is over”

  5. 808 November 29, 2019 8:35 pm

hawaii all star team beating kahuku hmm who woulda thought

  6. 96730289 November 29, 2019 8:45 pm

That pick six call back was the game changer. Metangi now hurt. Kahuku needed a lot of luck to win this game, but the ball just isn’t bouncing their way.
Hernandez threw the jab and spoke the truth for all to hear…”STL should become independent and travel next year.”
Felipe also adds “OIA/ILH open contract expires after this season.” I think the OIA leaves the ILH out.

  7. ItIsWhatItIs November 29, 2019 8:49 pm

Coach Hernandez that idea of STL traveling and playing big time programs on the mainland would be awesome! I have no idea how that would get funded tho. Traveling to the mainland 4 or 5 times a year sounds mighty expensive. Not to mention how that would effect all other teams in Hawaii. I can only imagine how many kids with talent would be going to STL, just for the exposure. Either way I would love to see that.

  8. Lou November 29, 2019 8:51 pm

So true Coach Hernandez. St.Louis should go independent and play mainland power houses. Get rid of the Open. Then they can play Punahou, Gorman,Bosco,Mater Dei, and Kam. They are so far ahead in local recruiting, coaching and staff and money. It reminds me of a small college. Let the local teams organize and play on a more level field. Aloha and play hard.

  9. Lou November 29, 2019 8:56 pm

Well 1 more td and mercy rule goes in. Let’s see if Cal pours it on for national rankings. Never thought I would see the day 2 teams in OIA gets mercy rule. The Open was designated 3 years ago to make “all teams better”?? Lol. It was created for Stl.

  10. Austin Chang November 29, 2019 9:00 pm

    Think God I didn’t pay 49 lol

  11. BleedRed November 29, 2019 9:02 pm

I know we losing but the excuses is hilarious, they just a better team than us,if Saint Louis goes independent, punahou ramps up recruiting,in the end, doesn’t matter, just play the game and stop whining

  12. 88 November 29, 2019 9:03 pm

Can tell none of you fuamz played! You get better by playing the best not running from them and playing teams you know you can beat. St. Louis wouldn’t be where they are today if they gave up when Punahou beat them 4 years in a row for the ILH championship.

  13. justaguy November 29, 2019 9:15 pm

St.Louis lost to Punahou when Cal was not around, aka not recruiting. Cal came back and immediately recruited from Kauai and Maui. Easy to win when you recruit from all islands and you even recruit Kahuku kids so that makes Kahuku weaker.

Go travel mainland and watch Cal lose when he meets his own match.

  14. MiliLouis November 29, 2019 9:21 pm

Seriously, raise your hand if you thought Kahuku would come close.

Now whack your head with the hand raised up in the air….lol

    JK

  15. Really November 29, 2019 9:23 pm

It was not a game changer. Stop begging. FHA’s refs aren’t juicing the game. Refs are calling it fair. This game isn’t competitive. Time to go home.

  16. 88 November 29, 2019 9:28 pm

Not enough credit is given to the Crusader OLine. Not one penalty. That’s discipline.

  17. Really November 29, 2019 9:29 pm

    @justaguy,

Cal doesn’t need to recruit. The parents seek out STL. And anyone can recruit. So what’s the big deal.

Also, I’m hearing Punahou’s freshman QB Sagapolutele is transferring to STL next year and sitting out a year.

  18. stockjock November 29, 2019 9:30 pm

Gotta remember St. Louis is losing a lot of starters on offense and defense..including De Laura, Herbig and Bothelo. I don’t think St. Louis will be that good next year. So Lahainaluna won 4 in a row should they move up to Divison 1? If OIA doesn’t include the ILH into the equation, the past 2 years have been lost. It is about the kids and the opportunities they get by the 3 divisions. Doesn’t make sense for St. Louis to go independent, who will pay for the travel and the students will miss a lot of time in school. Eventually the balance of power will swing and. St. Louis will not be at the top of the mountain. Simple solution, include a 2nd ILH team into the open you might not have this problem of winning 4 straight..oh wait..then the Open finals might become St. Louis vs. Punahou and heaven forbid that happens

  19. 88 November 29, 2019 9:35 pm

@stockjock they already tried that. And the ILH #2 got killed by the 3rd place OIA team.

  20. ILoveHawaii November 29, 2019 9:50 pm

36.6 loooong miles home tonight, according to google.

    Keep your heads up.
Lulu couldn’t be touched this year.
Just facts, and I don’t even like em.

  21. really November 29, 2019 9:50 pm

They tried bringing the ILH 2 one time.

That’s better than watching Kahuku lose by 100. This is such a waste of time. Waste of electricity. Waste of gas.

No one in the world outside of Kahuku and the surrounding areas thought this game would be competitive. Maybe Kapaa would have given a better game. Who knows?

  22. holding November 29, 2019 9:51 pm

    @ #88
Just because no holding penalties are being called doesn’t mean the OL ain’t holding like that ALWAYS do.

In fact, the SL OL gets away with a lot of holding (jersey pulling after getting beat). Go back and watch the past films.
Watch the ones they play at the stadium where it’s clear to see.

  23. Really November 29, 2019 9:54 pm

OMG. The Lou got in their 3’s now.

Maybe STL should have played Blue vs. White. Split the team evenly and have a scrimmage. Would be more competitive.

4 years ago there were like 50-60 posters on these blogs. Enemy of the state, blah blah blah. Talking about how great they are. So cocky. Many lacked respect.

Now 99% of them are gone? If you gonna chirp, so it when u win and lose. Not just run your gums when times are good. That’s what we call lack of integrity and bandwagon fans.

  24. Really November 29, 2019 10:09 pm

This is one of the worst beatings I’ve even seen in a Hawaii Football game. I totally understand why the Kahuku Coach asked Coach Cal if they could call the game during their infamous lights out game the other month. The Kahuku coach didn’t want his kids to get hurt and knew the game was over.

If Coach Cal didn’t have class and you take away one long run, this game could have easily been 84-0.

  25. 88 November 29, 2019 10:14 pm

@really obviously you didn’t watch the 39-14 thumping Kahuku gave St. Louis back in 2015 for the State Title. How quickly we forget..lol

  26. To da hale November 29, 2019 10:15 pm

Nick Herbig is by far SL’s Best Defensive player on the team.

He’s versatile and can do it all…..vs the run or dropping into coverage.

That’s why he won the award.

    My hat’s off to him….

  27. 2ndstring November 29, 2019 10:22 pm

@Really..the Punahou QB is an Eldridge so bloodlines run deep for Puns. Can’t imagine that happening when he can possibly be the all-time state passer with 4 full healthy seasons with the skill players Punahou has. Also, am hearing about a stud 8th grade an already at Saint Louis. Regardless, coach Vinny and Ron will have the next great QB ready to roll.

  28. Choloropicrin November 29, 2019 10:28 pm

Can they break their 14 Prep Bowl win streak? 10 more to go.

Here are the Open teams that should drop to D1: Farrington, Waianae, Kapolei, Kamehameha and Campbell.

D2 teams that need to go D1 – Lahainaluna.

D1 is the next best thing for those open teams and Lahainaluna. The 5 Open team mentioned absolutely cannot compete with the top 4 in the Open.

  29. really November 29, 2019 10:28 pm

    @88.

I don’t know if they teach you math out there.

    But 39-14 is a 25 point loss.

    Tonight’s game was 45-6. That’s a 39 point loss.

Let me help you with your edu-ma-ca-shon.

    39 > 25. And that’s a WHOLE LOT MORE.

Not that you can’t win at football 88, what do you really have?

I recall you chirping so much. Now your kinda quiet and boring. At least chirp the same win or lose. And be yourself. Or was that an act back in 2015?

  30. Cracking up November 29, 2019 10:31 pm

Embarrassing lost. Welcome Kahuku to being the first team to be mercy ruled in the state championship era lol. Hey Kahuku at least got into the record books this year lol. Pathetic offense not happening against the big dogs like saints n puns , puns would’ve made a better championship game , real talk

  31. Really November 29, 2019 10:36 pm

88 thinks Kahuku’s 39-14 game in 2015 was less competitive than tonight’s 39 point butt whooping.

Bwahahhaa. Man this guy is desperate and living in the past? What was 2015, like 4 years ago?

He’s still desperately holding on to that.

Based on that weak comparison it shows he doesn’t know football or didn’t watch tonight’s game.

Kahuku couldn’t even score on their 3’s and some 4’s.

Maybe they can play STL’s JV team next year. Harrah’s has STL JV favored by 5.5 over Kahuku Varsity right now.

  32. Really November 29, 2019 10:39 pm

    @Cracking up.

88 thinks the 2015 Kahuku win over STL is more of a butt whooping than tonight’s game.

Even thought tonight’s loss was 39 points and the mercy rule was in effect when it wasn’t in effect back in 2015.

I don’t know if 88 just pulls crap out his butt or he’s just that dumb.

I’m thinking he pulls crap out. The data and facts don’t support his conparison.

  33. Cracking up November 29, 2019 10:46 pm

88 didn’t play the game , I think he might be the guy radio, you seen that movie ? Yep that’s him alright . Big for Nutn boys . 1980’s offense , when they try to throw , it looks like jr peewees, hmmmm , all I got to say , embarrassing, I wouldn’t show my face for a week lol

  34. stockjock November 29, 2019 10:49 pm

@88 finals probably would have been competitive between ILH2 and St. Louis. Kahuku barely got into the finals after squeaking one out past Campbell. if it was Kahuku vs. Punahou I am sure it would have been a different story.

  35. Laughing November 29, 2019 10:50 pm

Kahuku , be proud , your in the record books for the first team being mercy ruled in state championship era. Have a nice long drive back , be safe now, oh and tell the parade people they can go home, this Cinderella story wasn’t happening .

  36. Really November 29, 2019 10:56 pm

    @ Laughing.

Kahuku is now known for 2 things.

They are the only team to get mercy ruled in the Open/Division 1 era.

They also are the only team to score 0 in the Open/Division 1 era.

But 88 wants us to know, back in 1725, Kahuku beat Noah’s Ark High School 39-14.

He’s awfully quiet now. 4-5 years ago that guy wouldn’t shut up.

  37. Transferring November 29, 2019 11:00 pm

    @ #17

I highly doubt John Keawe will go to SL.
2ndstring is correct, why give up a season when you could have 4 and possibly break some records. But this is just secondary.

The real question is WHY give up a Punahou education (since you’re in already) for one at SL?
I wonder if anyone ever did that (Pun to SL while in HS) plus lose 1 precious year of your high school career.

  38. 88 November 29, 2019 11:07 pm

@really Daaammn, didn’t mean to get your panties in a bunch.. An @$$ whooping is an @$$ whooping. The Crusaders learned from theirs. Hopefully our underclassmen do the same. Didn’t realize how much this game meant to you.. Early Christmas present I guess..lol

88 is hedging his bet. There are different degrees of butt whooping. If you need to think Kahuku’s win in 2015 is the same as tonight so you can sleep better I’ll humor you and play along.

May I ask why you post so much less now that Kahuku can’t win titles any more?

@transferring. There are kids who have left Kamehameha for public school. Or Punahou for public school. And others.

I’m for the quality education. But everyone thinks different.

    Congratulations to STL.

    Kahuku players good season.
You guys are still the OIA champs.

I’m sure all the Carvalho haters will still start chirping now. Since they won the OIA, the chirping stopped for a while……

Didn’t know you were the site monitor but okay.. Different degrees of butt whooping, that’s a first. The point is what they did after the butt whooping. Something you can’t seem to grasp…

The point is you talk all big when Kahuku wins. And now that they can’t you take a different tone.

The fact that you can’t figure out there are different degrees of practically everything is you are just not too smart. Let’s be real.

You have and always will be the most wanna be player and wanna be coach. But you’re not and never were.

I’d have more respect for you if you remained true to yourself and still talked crap. But you don’t. So that tells me your a bandwagon rider.

Talk big and puff your chest when you win. And then talk small and less often when you lose.

I can’t stand guys like you. Can’t be yourself or just act big when you’re winning. That’s weak and you know it deep inside. That’s why you’re so angry when you post. Anyone sees it and mostly everyone in the board tonight is laughing.

Where was all the Kahuku faithful tonight, they knew they were going to get murdered, so they stayed home, small crowd for Kahuku this year, too bad they only show up when they think they have a chance, LOL

  45. ilh November 30, 2019 12:13 am

now maybe someone should put the Saint Louis flag on the Kahuku campus

  46. Ouch November 30, 2019 12:22 am

Leave the Kahuku people alone already, it’s a hard time this moment in the community , lots of sad faces , quiet night , lots of tears . Only if they just accept it that their little league ways doesn’t work , maybe they would have a better fighting chance

And this is why Punahou should have been in states smh! Clearly second best team in state and only team that can compete with the LOU this year.

  48. 88 November 30, 2019 12:36 am

You can stand guys like me? I hate to burst your bubble buddy but I don’t give a shet…lol. I don’t know whether to laugh or feel sorry for you. Dude I didn’t post anything last year cause we didn’t make it to the ship. In the games we did play in I was all up in here. Didn’t know you cared… You too funny.

  49. 88 November 30, 2019 12:42 am

    @ILH Smaller St. Louis crowd.

  50. Recruited not Rooted November 30, 2019 12:45 am

@ really Why would Sagapolutele transfer to Stl and sit out a year? With the stable of QB’s Stl already has he’d have to sit out his junior year too and possibly not even see the field his senior year with Graham being a freshman also. Not a chances he’s transferring lol. If you believe that then I have some beach front property in Iowa to sell you.
