For much of the OIA Division II season, Pearl City held the top spot.
The Chargers won their first five league games by an average of 22.8 points before losing to Kaimuki and Waialua, dropping Pearl City from the No. 1 seed to the No. 4 seed in the last week of the regular season.
Now the Chargers (5-3) have to beat Waipahu (7-1) to clinch a berth in the OIA D-II final and spot in the state tournament. The Marauders feature the OIA D-II’s leading passer (Braden Amorozo), rusher (Alfred Failauga) and receiver (Isaac Yamashita).
Pearl City handed Waipahu its only loss of the season, 21-7, on Sept. 10.
HISTORY: Waipahu leads the series 18-9 in the Prep Bowl and state championship eras, but Pearl City won the last two meetings.

7:32: After an incomplete pass, Zameer Khan attempts a 33-yard field goal and misses wide.
7:35: Freshman running back rips off a 69-yard run and then goes up the middle for an 11-yard touchdown. Isaiah Harris kicks the extra point.
