Keane Escaba is on a roll. The Moanalua junior wrestler is 2-0 in the 113-pound division at the Texaco/HHSAA Wrestling State Championships on Friday, and the second victory was a big one — a pin over second-seeded ILH champion Kaistin Vasquez of Punahou. Nanea Estrella keeps on chugging. She needed just 13 seconds to beat Amber Cotter in the 132-pound preliminary round of the Texaco/HHSAA Wrestling State Championships on Friday at Blaisdell Arena. The Lahainaluna wrestler is going for her fourth state title, the biggest prize in Hawaii high school wrestling. Nanakuli’s Shannlynne Mahoe cuts weight, adds an OIA title and is in the hunt at states

It’s been quite a wrestling journey this year for Shannlynne Mahoe of Nanakuli. In the past, she was a steady performer at 225 pounds, even though she was pretty much about 193 on the scale. It’s a different story this year. Mahoe dropped weight and is about 159 now, wrestling in the 168-pound class.
