Standing there with friends, smiling in the rain, Darius Muasau was happy and relieved after Mililani’s defensive stand preserved a thrilling 31-24 victory over Kamehameha on Saturday night.
The showdown between No. 3 Mililani and No. 6 Kamehameha lived up to all expectations. Though it was a shootout at times — 304 yards and four TD passes by Mililani quarterback Dillon Gabriel, Kamehameha wide receiver Skyler Ramos with seven receptions for 141 yards and three total TDs — the Trojans came up with the defensive play of the game to end Kamehameha’s last-minute drive.
