It turns out Kapolei’s only loss of the season was not as harmful as it seemed at the time. The Hurricanes lost to Kalani in penalty kicks in the semifinals of the OIA tournament, but were rewarded by the HHSAA with home matches in the first two rounds of the state tournament. Campbell defeated Pearl City in penalty kicks in the quarterfinals of the girls state soccer tournament. The Sabers advanced to the semifinals with the 3-2 win and will face ‘Iolani. Mililani plays Konawaena in the other semifinal match at Waipio Peninsula Soccer Stadium.

Kahuku girls find ‘home’ at Kealakehe

Finding a place to stay on the Big Island has been a major headache for the Kahuku girls soccer team. But relief is here in the form of Kealakehe High athletic director Alan Vogt, who extended an invitation on Thursday to the Red Raiders to stay in the Waveriders’ wrestling room Friday night.
