Tagovailoa rises in Scout.com rankings

Saint Louis junior Tua Tagovailoa is the No. 1 uncommitted quarterback for the Class of 2017 according to Scout.com. Tagoaviloa is rated as the No. 40 overall prospect at any position and fourth among quarterbacks in the latest rankings released on Thursday. The top three are Bishop Gorman QB Tate Martell (Texas A&M), Guyer’s (Tex.) Shawn Robinson (TCU) and Valor Christian’s (Colo.) Dylan McCaffrey (Michigan). Saint Louis lefty Tua Tagovailoa is ranked sixth in CBS MaxPreps’ Top 10 quarterback recruits for the 2017. Dylan McCaffrey of Valor Christian in Colorado is at the top of the list, which also includes Tate Martell of Las Vegas’ Bishop Gorman at No. 3. Herbig is down to 2 schools: Cal and Stanford

Saint Louis offensive lineman Nate Herbig is probably going to wait until the Feb. 3 signing day to choose which school he will commit to. Saint Louis quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has been practicing for a 7-on-7 passing tournament. Good thing he’s active at this time because some college suitors came to watch him practice over the Martin Luther King Jr. Day weekend. Assistant coaches from USC and UCLA came to the Crusaders’ field on Monday to watch him throw, according to Tua’s father, Galu Tagovailoa. Kahuku 37th in final football rankings

Kahuku finished No. 37 in the final MaxPreps national computer rankings. The Red Raiders finished off a 13-0 season with a 39-14 win over Saint Louis in the Division I state championship. Kahuku also ended the season as the No. 8 team in the USA Today Super 25 Pacific Region rankings. The Crusaders (9-3) ended up No. 121 in the MaxPreps rankings.
