Saint Louis’ defense simply on another level

By Jason Kaneshiro on September 16, 2017

Saint Louis coach Cal Lee arrived at Aloha Stadium on Saturday “100 percent” concerned with the dual-threat potential of Punahou quarterback Stephen Barber. A dominant Crusader defense eased any anxiety Lee might have felt before kickoff. Already a clear pick atop the Star-Advertiser top 10 […]

Barber will be the key for Punahou to beat Saint Louis

By Paul Honda on September 15, 2017

He’s not the only first-year, senior starter to rise in prominence. Punahou’s Stephen Barber is merely the latest. When the Buffanblu (4-0, 1-0 ILH) meet Saint Louis (3-0, 1-0) on Saturday night (6 p.m.) at Aloha Stadium, it has the makings of an ultimate battle in the decades-old lore of this rivalry. At 6-foot-3 and 220 pounds, he is the prototype of what the position requires in the modern game. Trained to release the ball quickly, yet be durable and […]
