They haven’t played in two weeks, yet the Saint Louis Crusaders have found themselves in the top 10 in the country, out of it, and back in it. Former Damien athlete loses lawsuit against ILH

A state circuit judge ruled in favor of the Interscholastic League of Honolulu and executive director Blane Gaison in a lawsuit challenging the league’s transfer rule. Last month, the parents of former Damien football player and wrestler Keoua Kauhi filed, dropped and then refiled the suit. A day after dropping a spot in the MaxPreps Xcellent 25 national rankings, Saint Louis made a small jump in the USA Today Super 25, moving up to No. 13 in the latest rankings released today. The Crusaders moved past Bishop Gorman, which got shut out 42-0 by No. 3 Mater Dei (Calif.) on Friday. Idle because of the threat of Hurricane Lane that wiped out its scheduled game against Mililani on Saturday, Saint Louis dropped a spot to No. 11 in the latest MaxPreps Xcellent 25 released today. Despite a 40-point blowout win over Narbonne (Calif.) and a loss by a team ranked ahead of them in the USA Today Super 25, the Saint Louis Crusaders remained at No. 14 in the nation in this week’s rankings.
