Records in danger at state track meet

Bob Martin at milesplit has released the performance list for the state track and field meet beginning Friday night at Kamehameha, and it suggests a good show. Mid-Pacific reports freshman Kohei Tomita, who left yesterday’s semifinal in an ambulance, suffered a severe concussion and will not play tonight. He was just cleared from an earlier concussion on Monday. The Owls will also be missing sophomore center midfielder Tyler Allen, who pulled a groin early in the semifinals and sat out the second half. A lot of upsets here this year, particularly among the boys in the higher weights with both Dayton Furuta of Mililani and Tia Toese of Campbell failing to make the finals. Every top seed from 106 to 170 made it into the finals for the boys, but each of the top seeds at 182, 195, 220 and 285 lost before the championship.
