Joining ‘Iolani Classic most valuable player Chanelle Molina on the all-tourney team were teammates Cherilyn Molina, Celena Jane Molina and Ihi Victor, as well as Fiamea Hafoka and Cameron Fernandez of Lahainaluna; Zakiya Mahoney, Mayla Andrada and most outstanding player Maya Pace of Bishop O’Dowd; and UH-bound Juli Tago and Lauren Orndoff of South Medford (not pictured).

The host team, ‘Iolani, takes on tough South Medford (Ore.) in the third-place game of the ‘Iolani Classic girls tournament tonight. No. 2-ranked Lahainaluna just defeated Mililani 61-35 in the fifth-place game. The Lady Lunas lost to Bishop O’Dowd in a close game during Thursday’s opening round. The Dragons of Bishop O’Dowd were tall and athletic, but ‘Iolani refused to surrender. The Raiders kept it close before falling in the semifinals of the ‘Iolani Classic on Friday night, 63-53.

The Wildcats are warming up and almost ready to square off against South Medford (Ore.), a team that rallied past Punahou in the quarterfinals on Thursday. Bishop O’Dowd, the California powerhouse, will face host ‘Iolani in the second semifinal to follow this game. I doubt Konawaena will look past South Medford.
