Tyler Taumua stat ticker

By Paul Honda on October 4, 2011

Yes, yes, it’s that time again ladies and gentlemen, Governors and non-Govs. It’s the Tyler Taumua statistical update, courtesy of the No. 1-ranked Farrington Governors and the pummelling “Bamboolas.” Taumua gained 100 rushing yards on 24 carries against then-No. 1 Kahuku on Saturday night. At this rate, the junior running back will finish a full, 14-game season — provided the Govs reach the final of the state tournament — with 2,504 yards and 24 touchdowns. The single-season record is believed […]

Preview: Kahuku-Farrington (extended version)

By Jerry Campany on October 1, 2011

(Long version of the Kahuku-Farrington game preview that ran in Friday’s Star-Advertiser.) There are cousins in maroon and red. Saint Louis still has hope

By Jerry Campany on September 18, 2011

The Saint Louis Crusaders suffered their second ILH loss of the season on Sept. 16, making a repeat conference crown unlikely. Punahou drilled Saint Louis 35-0, the first time the Crusaders had been shut out since 2005, when the Buffanblu put the collar on them 14-0. The 35-point margin is the largest since before 1999: Largest margin of defeat for Saint Louis 35 points: Punahou 35, Saint Louis 0, 2011 24 points: Kamehameha 30, Saint Louis 6, 1999 23 […]

Tyler Taumua stat ticker

By Paul Honda on September 17, 2011

OK, we don’t have an actual ticker, but we’ve got stats. Since these belong to Farrington running back Tyler Taumua, they are big, huge, phat stats. This is what the junior has through six games: Tyler Taumua, Farrington, RB Two regular-season games remaining. Three OIA playoff games. Possibly two or three state-tournament games. He’s averaging 192 yards per game. If Tyler plays eight more games, he will finish the season with a grand total of 2,688 yards. Is it possible? […]
