In our effort to create the best possible statistical database for high school football in Hawaii, we are finally able to present our statistical leaders among Oahu high schools in rushing, passing and receiving since 1973. Gerald Welch brings people together like no prep football player ever has. Welch is the only player in Hawaii’s long history of prep football to be named first-team All-State by two newspapers three times. Welch, a receiver for Saint Louis, was named first team by both the Honolulu Advertiser and Honolulu Star-Bulletin in 1997, 1998 and 1999.
