Kahuku, in bulldoze mode, flattens Campbell

By Nick Abramo on August 8, 2015

Running room on one side. The door slammed shut on the other. Pretty simple. Kahuku’s line had its way with Campbell’s on both sides of the ball and it resulted in a 50-0 trouncing at Carleton Weimer Field on the North Shore on Friday night. “What a way to start the season” could be a phrase for both the Red Raiders and the Sabers. It just depends on your inflection. Upbeat for Kahuku. Head down and slow, with your hand […]

By Billy Hull on August 7, 2015

The Kaiser Cougars roll into Kapolei ranked eighth by the Star-Adveriser, but the Hurricanes could have something to say about it. A quick look at the two rosters shows Kaiser with 26 available players for tonight’s game while Kapolei is over 60. This is the first meeting between the schools since 2003. The Hurricanes are 2-0 all-time in the series, winning 14-7 that season and 21-6 in 2002. In-game updates will follow below. 6:30 p.m.: Kapolei leading 7-0 in JV […]

LIVE BLOG: #5 Kamehameha 33, Waianae 13, F

By Paul Honda on August 7, 2015

We are roughly 2 minutes from the coin toss for the varsity matchup. Finally. This game won’t start until 8:25 p.m., probably, and won’t end until 10:45 or so. I’m expecting a balanced attack from Kamehameha, and if it skews one way, probably 60 percent running the ball by the Warriors. Waianae? I think they’ll keep it basic and run 70-30. That combination would make it a fast game… but I wouldn’t be shocked to see Waianae go contrary to […]

Saint Louis-Mililani is big buzz of first week

By Nick Abramo on August 5, 2015

Mililani and Saint Louis tried to get a real game in the works for this football season, but a scrimmage is the best they could do. It will be Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Trojans’ John Kauinana Stadium. There’s an Oahu Interscholastic Association rule stating that all league football teams can only play one regular-season, nonleague game. Mililani already had Liberty of Las Vegas on the schedule for Sept. 4 in Nevada. And even though the Saint Louis at […]
