UPDATE: OIA moves Saturday football game

Saturday’s scheduled game between No. 1 Kahuku and Campbell has been moved up to Friday according to Sabers coach Amosa Amosa. UPDATE 7:30 P.M.: OIA Football coordinator Harold Tanaka said that all games are still scheduled for Friday and that the league will make a determination late Friday morning whether to move the doubleheader to Monday. After pulling out its first win of the season over a ranked opponent, Mililani jumped into the top five of the Honolulu Star-Advertiser Football Top 10 rankings for the first time this season. Kahuku head coach Vavae Tata released John Hao as the Red Raiders’ offensive coordinator after Friday’s 28-0 victory over Waianae, according to two trusted Honolulu Star-Advertiser sources. Reached by phone this morning, Hao did not want to discuss the issue. Phone calls to Tata and Kahuku athletic director Gillian Yamagata were not immediately returned. Kahuku’s impressive 28-0 victory over Waianae last Friday did not go unnoticed on the mainland. After holding the previously undefeated Seariders to 32 total yards to record their 16th consecutive victory, the Red Raiders jumped seven spots to No. 18 in the latest USA Today Super 25 rankings released Monday.
