Sources: Tata out, Freitas in at Kahuku

Kahuku football head coach Vavae Tata is no longer the head coach of the Kahuku football team, according to multiple sources close to the situation who spoke on the condition of anonymity late Thursday night. Kapolei’s Savea; No. 2 recruit join Poly Bowl

It’s been less than a month since the inaugural Polynesian Bowl at Aloha Stadium and the 2018 game already is adding more talent. Kapolei linebacker Rocky Savea has accepted an invite to the game, joining Kahuku’s Samson Reed and Waianae’s Kanai Mauga. The senior confirmed on Monday that he will be on a two-year church mission before he enrolls at Utah. Before he was offered late in the recruiting process by Fresno State, Kamehameha defensive lineman Nakoa Pauole was in the same situation his best friend, Alema Kapoi, was in last year. Kapoi, who started next to Pauole on the defensive line for Kamehameha in 2015, was offered by three service academies and eventually decided to enroll at Navy.
