Punahou all-state defensive end Miki Suguturaga will be rushing pass rushers for Utah someday.

Some year. The senior confirmed on Monday that he will be on a two-year church mission before he enrolls at Utah. He signed a letter of intent to Utah on Wednesday during a signing event at the Sheraton Waikiki. Utah later removed him from a list of signees on its site, as well as its Twitter page, but it’s all just a formality.

Soon enough, he’ll be backpacking somewhere on this planet besides the Punahou campus.

“Yeah, the mission is part of it,” he texted.

Suguturaga, Kahuku’s Aliki Vimahi and Kapaa’s Mo Unutoa all signed with Utah last Wednesday — as did former Mililani offensive lineman Jordan Agasiva.
