Kahuku’s Vimahi gets Nebraska offer

Sophomore Enokk Vimahi of Kahuku received his fourth football scholarship offer over the weekend. Nebraska, which has former Hawaii offensive line coach Mike Cavanaugh on staff, made an offer to Vimahi. The 6-foot-4, 250-pound Kahuku lineman posted the news on his Twitter feed. His other offers are BYU, Fresno State and Hawaii.

It’s official: Freitas is Kahuku interim head coach

Makoa Freitas was officially introduced as the Kahuku football interim head coach Sunday by the KahukuHigh.org website. Freitas takes over for Vavae Tata, who spent two years at the helm and brought the Red Raiders a Division I state championship and another appearance in the first Open Division state title game. Darren Johnson will be the new football coach at Campbell, he confirmed Friday afternoon. Johnson was expected to be announced as the coach today on campus, when he will meet with the Sabers players.
