Sam Fehoko joins BYU coaching staff

Former Farrington and Texas Tech football player Sam Fehoko has joined the coaching staff at BYU. Fehoko, who previously coached at Texas Tech, made the announcement via social media with a photo (above). He played linebacker for the Red Raiders and became a graduate assistant last season. His younger brother, Breiden Fehoko, recently transferred out of Texas Tech. He recently visited Louisville and Auburn. Damien to play Villa Park at Diaz Stadium

In a little more than four months, the championship football program at Damien will be at full throttle again. Coming off a 7-3 season and back-to-back Interscholastic League of Honolulu Division II titles, Damien has a full slate in the first three weeks of preseason. Kamehameha, Baldwin to host California teams

Kamehameha will host Carson High from Carson, Calif., for a football game on Aug. 25, Warriors head coach Abu Maafala confirmed today. The Warriors are one of at least seven Hawaii teams that will play mainland squads this fall. The others are Saint Louis, Punahou, Mililani, Kahuku, Kalani and Baldwin. Kamehameha went 3-6 a year ago in Maafala’s first year at the helm. Carson finished 4-6, losing to Palisades (Pacific Palisades, Calif.) 41-0 in the Los Angeles City Section playoffs. […]


Saint Louis to host 2 mainland teams in ’17

Cal Lee is gearing up for yet another year of coaching high school football, and he’s excited. He’s also disappointed in a few things. First, the positives: Lee’s Crusaders will be playing against two mainland teams this fall. On the weekend of Sept. 22-23, Saint Louis will entertain Narbonne (Los Angeles). The Kahuku football team will play in Las Vegas for the second year in a row, interim head coach Makoa Freitas said today.
