‘Iolani will play Saddleback Valley Christian in football at home in the Father Bray Classic on Aug. 19, according to Raiders coach Wendell Look. Saddleback Valley Christian is from San Juan Capistrano, Calif., which is located in Orange County. Saint Louis to play Waianae and Baldwin

Saint Louis will play two nonconference games against Hawaii teams in football this fall to go along with its two games against mainland teams and regular Interscholastic League of Honolulu schedule. The Crusaders will play at Waianae on Friday, Aug. 4, and will host Baldwin at Aloha Stadium on Aug. 19, according to coach Cal Lee. Last September’s game between Kahuku and Bishop Gorman in Las Vegas was featured in last Wednesday’s installment of QB1: Beyond the Lights, an online documentary on the streaming service go90. There’s no question Damien and St. Francis will be classified in Division II for Interscholastic League of Honolulu football this fall. ‘Iolani opts for Division II in state football

After two years of playing against Division I football competition, ‘Iolani is going down to Division II in the Interscholastic League of Honolulu, Raiders coach Wendell Look confirmed Friday. In addition, Look said that ‘Iolani has declared itself a D-II team for the state tournament. Kalani excited for rare mainland football trip

A quick scroll though the Kalani football engine tells us that the Falcons have not played a football game on the mainland since beating Earl Wooster High School in Reno, Nev., in 1974 with senior Craig Ogata starting at quarterback. Four decades later under second-year head coach Scott Melemai, the Falcons are finally going back. Kalani will play Mount Tahoma (Wash.) in Tacoma on Sept. 8. Galu Tagovailoa has been busy. The husband and father of four — including two daughters and two quarterbacking sons — just sold his house in Kapolei last week and is moving the family to Alabaster, Ala., as first reported by Hawaii Prep World six weeks ago.
