In terms of the MaxPreps Xcellent 25 (a human poll), it’s the 16th-ranked Miners (3-0) against the […]

York’s visit to De La Salle changed approach

By Paul Honda on September 7, 2017

No. 3 Mililani has offensive and defensive weapons to defeat opponents, but physical skills alone aren’t enough. Coach Rod York sees a lot of heart in the Trojans, the same intangible he sees in No. 6 Farrington, their foe this Friday at Skippa Diaz Stadium. Building the foundation and the Mill Vill (youth club) pipeline were difficult enough, but York found himself flustered in recent seasons. No matter what the Mililani head coach and his staff taught, no matter how […]

By Nick Abramo on September 7, 2017

Kaiser’s beleaguered football team got more bad news Wednesday, when the school decided that it would be forfeiting the next two games, according to a source high up in the school’s administration. The announcement is not a surprise. The Cougars had already canceled three of their games (including two league forfeits) due to low roster numbers. The next two forfeited games were originally scheduled for Friday at Aiea and Sept. 16 at No. 2 Kahuku. Last Friday, the team played […]

Kapolei has another invited to Polynesian Bowl

By Billy Hull on September 7, 2017

Faumui, who is listed at 6-foot-3 and 285 pounds, won the Division II state title as a sophomore at Radford before transferring to a school in Utah his junior year. He returned home for his senior season and has helped the Hurricanes give up seven points or less in three of five games this […]
