ILH champion Punahou, ‘Iolani and Roosevelt each placed three on the Honolulu Advertiser ILH all-star team while the Buffanblu had four on the Star-Bulletin’s list. Buffanblu quarterback Harry Pacarro, Roosevelt fullback Al Bader and Punahou halfback Tom Fink were unanimous selections. Rural OIA champion Waialua landed six on the Honolulu Advertiser all-star team but only four on the Star-Bulletin squad while runner-up Waipahu placed six. Punahou kicker Timothy Horn, who recently committed to the University of Washington, has been named a Polynesian Bowl All-Star. Horn is the seventh player from Hawaii selected to the high school all-star football game, which will take place Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Aloha Stadium. The ILH released its high school football schedule on Monday, helping to fill out the updated prep schedule for the entire state. Former Damien football player and wrestler Keoua Kauhi has filed a civil action against Blane Gaison and the ILH challenging the league’s transfer rule. Kauhi, who led the Monarchs with 914 rushing yards and five touchdowns last year, transferred to Saint Louis in March and applied for an exemption of the ILH’s transfer rule but was denied because of “a standing league and state policy regarding transfer students,” according to the lawsuit obtained by the Honolulu Star-Advertiser.
