‘Iolani’s Carter Kamana relishes role as senior leader

Carter Kamana put up numbers in 2018. He collected 84 passes for 959 yards and eight touchdowns during his junior season as ‘Iolani went 8-3 overall and reached the Division I state tournament. There is urgency for Kamana, who has interest from Division II colleges. At 6 feet, 2 inches, he will be one of the focal points for opposing defenses. After finishing the 2018 season ranked as high as No. 7 in the country, the Saint Louis Crusaders open the 2019 season ranked No. 11 in the MaxPreps Xcellent 25 preseason rankings released today. From blue and white to green and yellow, a lot has changed as Kaimuki celebrates 75 years of Bulldogs football. Kaimuki took the field at Honolulu Stadium for its first game on Sept. 29, 1944, and played defending ILH champion Roosevelt to a scoreless tie.
