High Voltage: Chargers offense dangerous

By Paul Honda on October 27, 2014

They are, after all, a perennial title contender. Again. Radford (6-4) had success moving the ball […]

By Paul Honda on October 27, 2014

Back in the day, ‘Iolani’s football field was not so different. The same scorching South Shore sun. The same occasional breeze drifting down from Palolo and Manoa Valleys. But the bleachers were metal. An afternoon game plus those bleachers could fry an okole or two. Down below, between the old tennis courts was the entrance to that field. The famous ice cream vending machine with three doors and choices. (I miss that thing even if I rarely had the money […]

Punahou moves on, Saint Louis looks ahead

By Jason Kaneshiro on October 25, 2014

Punahou’s starters hadn’t seen the field much in the fourth quarter over the Buffanblu’s first six wins this season. Their efficiency routinely powered the Buffanblu to comfortable leads by halftime as Punahou swept through the ILH first-round schedule with relative ease, starting with a 55-7 win over Saint Louis in the league opener on Aug. 29. Friday’s rematch with the Crusaders bore little resemblance to that first meeting and Punahou survived a four-quarter shootout to retain the ILH title. The […]
