The first quarter gave fans the promise of a great, classic battle for the OIA Division I title. Instead, Kahuku QB Tuli Wily-Matagi was knocked out at the end of a 20-yard run and Mililani slowed the pace in a decisive 20-7 victory. McKenzie Milton tossed two TD passes and the Trojans defense locked down on Kahuku’s offense to earn a first-round bye in the state tournament.


Pahoa runners persevere

Pahoa’s runners wrapped up their season after seeing Hurricane Iselle blow through their district in August and lava from Kilauea on the verge of cutting off its town. Kahuku’s Wily-Matagi has concussion

Kahuku senior starting quarterback Tuli Wily-Matagi suffered a concussion during a running play in Friday night’s 20-7 OIA championship game loss to Mililani. “I was diagnosed with a concussion,” Wily-Matagi said after the game. “I am going to try my hardest to get back.
