Saint Louis’ Cordeiro invited to Polynesian Bowl

The 2018 Polynesian Bowl has its first quarterback from Hawaii with the announcement tonight that Saint Louis’ Chevan Cordeiro has been invited to the game. Cordeiro, who is 6 feet and 175 pounds, is currently fourth on Oahu among Division I quarterbacks with 1,303 passing yards with 14 touchdowns and just three interceptions. St. Francis safety Wembley Mailei, a first-team All-ILH selection as a junior, has been invited to the 2018 Polynesian Bowl. Mailei, who is 6-foot-3 and 220 pounds, is the anchor at the back end of the defense for the Saints (5-2, 3-1 ILH D-II), who trail league-leading Damien by a game heading into the final two weeks of the regular season. Fotu commits to Saint Mary’s

Former Kahuku star Daniel Fotu has given an oral commitment to play basketball at Saint Mary’s, a source from Hawaii confirmed today. Last winter, Fotu, a 6-foot-7 forward who lives in New Zealand, enrolled at Kahuku after the start of basketball season, spent the three months of basketball season in Hawaii and led the Red Raiders to the Division I state championship before moving back to New Zealand. St. Francis sophomore offensive lineman Ope Laloulu landed his first scholarship offer from Oregon today, Saints coach Kip Akana said.
