Polynesian Bowl week kicked off Monday with the arrival of players and the draft party at the Sheraton Princess Kaiulani. The rosters for Team Makai, coached by Terry Donahue, and Team Mauka, coached by Dick Vermeil, were set. Cleveland Browns defensive tackle Danny Shelton is the honorary captain for Team Makai while San Francisco 49ers defensive lineman DeForest Buckner, a Punahou alumnus, holds the same honor for the Mauka squad. Tennessee Titans quarterback and Saint Louis School alum Marcus Mariota will make public appearances as part of the week-long festivities leading up to the 2018 Polynesian Bowl on Saturday at Aloha Stadium. Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Juju Smith-Schuster, who earlier this month was named the Polynesian Football player of the year, will also be in town for the game.
