Pac-Five’s Fautanu named Polynesian Bowl All Star

The Pac-Five Wolfpack will have a player in the Polynesian Bowl for the very first time. Senior Leif Fautanu, a 6-foot-3, 300-pound offensive lineman, has been named a Polynesian Bowl All Star. Fautanu, who played both offense and defense this season, helped the Wolfpack match their best win total since 2011. He holds offers from Hawaii and UNLV. Kamehameha’s Kupono Blake named Polynesian Bowl All Star

Kamehameha defensive lineman Kupono Blake has been selected to the 2019 Polynesian Bowl. The 6-foot-3, 265-pound Air Force commit has had a breakout season as a senior, putting himself in the mix for the state’s defensive player of the year award given out by the Honolulu Star-Advertiser in December. STATE FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT: 5 spots clinched

Five state football tournament spots have been clinched. Two OIA teams — Kaimuki and Roosevelt — wrapped up berths with victories last week. Those two teams meet for the OIA D-II tile and a seeded spot at states on Friday at Aloha Stadium. Previously, MIL D-II champion Lahainaluna and ILH D-I representative ‘Iolani qualified for states.
