Punahou will play Long Beach Poly in football this fall, according to Buffanblu coach Kale Ane. Maryknoll senior Makoto Kamata was named the ILH Division I boys basketball most valuable player today. ‘Iolani senior Lincoln Oishi narrowly edged Punahou’s Max Moonier as the Honolulu Star-Advertiser All-State player of the year in boys soccer. Frank Baumholtz III coached Sunshine Fontes for four years at Pearl City and has seen her develop from a supremely talented freshman to an even more supremely talented senior leader.
