Polynesian Bowl selections: Who should make it?

The 2020 Polynesian Bowl will take place Saturday, Jan. 18, at Aloha Stadium featuring 100 of the best high school football players in the country. Over the next nine weeks, two players will be selected and announced every Thursday on Hawaii Prep World. Currently there are 78 players who have already earned invitations. Three-time defending Open Division state champion Saint Louis is right back when it left of last season. The Crusaders are No. 12 in the first USA Today Super 25 rankings of the season, matching their season-ending ranking from a year ago. 14 Hawaii high school alums make Polynesian award watch list

The Polynesian Football Hall of Fame announced its 2019 Watch List for the Polynesian College Football Player of the Year Award today. Fourteen of the 63 players named to the list are alums of high schools in Hawaii. Molokai played its first 11-man football game in more than a half-century, and made its first football visit to Oahu. Nanakuli got a big game from linebacker-turned-quarterback Sedric Crawford, who amassed 343 yards from scrimmage in a 37-0 win. The senior launched five TD passes.
