Three-time defending Open Division state champion Saint Louis is right back when it left of last season.

The Crusaders are No. 12 in the first USA Today Super 25 rankings of the season, matching their season-ending ranking from a year ago.

A week ago, Saint Louis checked in at No. 11 in the MaxPreps Xcellent 25 preseason rankings.

The Crusaders, who have won 26 games in a row since losing to Punahou in the regular season in 2016, open their season on Aug. 15 against Kapolei in the first of nine straight games without a bye.

Bishop Gorman, which the Crusaders will play on Aug. 30 at Aloha Stadium in the Aloha Football Classic, is ranked No. 18.

St. John Bosco (Calif.), which will play Mililani at John Kauinana Stadium on Sept. 21, is ranked No. 4.

63-10 Gorman. They on a different level than Hawai’i football.

  2. ILH August 7, 2019 9:53 am

Not under the eyes of Cal Lee, Crusaders, 42 to 28

  3. Leeboy August 7, 2019 10:12 am

Crusaders will beat Gorman, coach lee is on another 10 year run baby

  4. Cry Me a River August 7, 2019 10:46 am

its funny , i bet everybody who aint a crusader fan is dying to see the crusaders lose or get smashed lol.
Instead of backing up hawaii, no the haters gon hate, but thats ok, the more they hate and the more the crusaders dominate, the more fustrated they will be lol. Crusaders 4 peat. Dont ever compare Red Raider Football to the crusaders, accomplishments and style of football, totally different.

Cry Me a River is just another smug, arrogant ahole, but what do you expect from the Crusaders. But he/she is right, haters going to hate, it’s just the way of the world. Many Big Red fans aren’t the most nicest people either, so take it or leave it, goes both ways.

With that being said, I always support the Island teams. Any time a team is nationally ranked, I would hope for that team to prove themselves against National competition. I don’t know what Shark is smoking, but there is no way this years St Louis team gets smoked by Gorman.

Thanks to Cal Lee (even though I still hate him) and the Crusaders, Big Red was able to eventually step up there game. Now, coach York is doing the same thing at Mililani. St Louis does stock pile talent from around the state, but Big Red did show that it is possible to slay the giant.

Cal Lee is taking the Crusaders on another magic ride; who of the Public schools will rise up?

Crusaders with the Win. Gorman ain’t like who they used to be. Kids going to Liberty knowing that they have more college offers than the Gaels. Save money and still get a free college education and that’s why Crusaders are ranked higher than Gorman.

I can’t wait for this Gorman game!
Like “cry me a river” stated; the haters are “Fustrated” not Frustrated! Lol.

  9. TIA THOMPSON August 7, 2019 12:41 pm

  10. Shark August 7, 2019 2:09 pm

@cry me river@ilh@leeboy. Not hating on st Luis but just speaking facts it is what it is. Watch!

  11. HailFromDaNorth August 7, 2019 2:11 pm

Gorman on another level??. Pfffff!! Let’s go Saint Louis!! And this is from a #RR4L the bigger picture is Hawaii Vs Everybody!

  12. Shark August 7, 2019 2:15 pm

Mark my words Hawai’i cannot play with top mainland talent. 63-10 Gorman. And das my story.
Last time they played, Gorman was up 55 -7 or something like that before they let up and let st. Luis back in the game. All facts all facts all facts

  13. ILH August 7, 2019 2:41 pm

Wow, were my comments on whats happening in MillVille too provocative?

  14. Trustno1 August 7, 2019 3:27 pm

Btw what happened to all the comments under the Rod York Glory Days? I wonder what happened for it to be deleted! Good luck to all the teams this week! 808vsEverybody!

  15. HailFromDaNorth August 7, 2019 3:37 pm

Funny all the Mililani comments got deleted. Unreal.

  16. rrforlifebaby August 7, 2019 4:48 pm

Yeah, Shark is definitely trippin on something; I’m a RRFL, but even I can see that this St Louis squad is stacked, while Gorman has taken a step or two down from a couple of years ago.

  17. CynHyn August 7, 2019 6:03 pm

St.Louis will never rise because Cal doesn’t challenge the big teams at their house. Then again it cost $$$ just to bring 24 coaches and another 10 staff along
    We not even talking 100+players.

  18. Cryhyn August 7, 2019 6:29 pm

Don’t forget SolJay Maiava second year QB starter for St.Johns. DC. In the USA ranking at #5. This team plays 6 USA top 25 teams in their regular season. As most put it the most brutal schedule of all high school football. Dang SolJ. Representing. Hope to see you in the Poly bowl

  19. Good Story August 7, 2019 6:55 pm

Sending some love to St Louis…and this is from another Red Raider 4 Life. But 808 all day vs mainland.

  20. The truth August 7, 2019 8:08 pm

    On the mililani vs Campbell
    Trojans by 3 touchdowns
Don’t care about how much skill guys Campbell has, the battle is won in the trenches . Campbell will only be as good as wat they was last year. Road to the OIA championship will be through mililani and Kahuku. Kahuku is always a team to worry about . They got athletes out there . My opinion

  21. Farney August 7, 2019 10:25 pm

On Campbell vs.Mililani. Mililani by 5.( 5 more recruits). Funny when Mililani alumni on college programs read . From Kalihi. From Kapolei. From Halawa. Etc.

  22. Stopdahype August 8, 2019 9:31 am

Cryhyn. Do you have any independent personal knowledge of what you write or do you just rely on what you read in the SA? Eg. have you ever seen Soljay throw a football? If you did, you’d know he won’t play QB in college. He has the best receiver in the Nation and he still can’t throw a spiral more than 15 yds. Very below average passer above average runner. DB at the next level. Ask anyone who’s seen him play in person.

  23. Crynhwn August 8, 2019 1:41 pm

Lol, sth, we don’t give prop to the 808 when they represent in the mainland? Wow, where your hate coming from? So being 5 national and 2 year starter you not deserving? Wow. Dude is playing top ten teams for 2 years against 4 stars and top defenses. Lol.

  24. RidgeRunnerDD-214 August 8, 2019 3:46 pm

Bishop Gorman isn’t the same caliber as seasons passed, I got Saint Louis winning a slugfest. Mililani should handle Campbell.
