It’s been a bit quiet, but the Punahou girls volleyball team is off to a flying start in ILH Division I action. The Buffanblu (5-0) — ranked No. 1 in the Honolulu Star-Advertiser Top 10 — have quality victories over rivals Kamehameha and ‘Iolani. Those are big wins. Right about the time that the lights were going out at Aloha Stadium during Saint Louis’ 28-0 victory over Kahuku, there were some records being set in far away Nanakuli on Saturday night. Two Pearl City Chargers achieved school records during a 35-34 overtime loss to Nanakuli in a rugged, hard-hitting Division II showdown. The Hawaii Grown Report returns for another year at the Honolulu Star-Advertiser starting in Wednesday’s newspaper with a profile on Utah senior Bradlee Anae, a first-team, All-Pac-12 defensive lineman from Kahuku for the 10th-ranked Utes, who are the preseason favorites to win the conference.
